We have noticed the Grillsmith signs every visit to the Sarasota area, but had not tried it until tonight. Jilyan was our server... and was the best! She knew it was our first time at Grillsmith and was friendly and helpful with information about the menu, howmany items are made in house. She was right about every recommendation she gave. She must have told the Manager, who also cameby and welcomed us. We are sorry we had not tried it before now! We'll definitely be back soon. Read more

We have eaten here twice in the last 2 weeks. Absolutely the best steak we have ever had. Denny is a wonderful server and even... better bartender. We are leaving Venice within the next 2 weeks. But not without having another great experience atGrillsmith. Betty Giacometti Bill Ince 10-22-22 Read more

Horrible food. Steak ordered hot pink center and came out well done. Salads were way to salty for my guess. Top it all, server... spilled silverware on me full Of stake sauce. Oh yea… silverware is old and tired Read more

Was coming in for a quick dinner. 9pm, close to close, I know. We were coming in planning on eating quickly and leaving a... generous tip to make up for getting there a bit later. As a previous manager at multiple restaurants, the rule is you keep yourdoors open and take every guest even if it’s a minute before close. (9:30 was the posted closing time on the doors andonline). Thumbs down for telling us they’re closed when they’re actually not (9pm). Won’t be returning, which isunfortunate because the food is good and customer service is decent. You don’t do that to a paying customer. Read more

Donna was the absolute best server I’ve had. I come here twice a month. Always ask for extra sauce with my Milanese and always... get a tiny bit. She brought me a sufficient additional side of sauce and was super attentive! Read more

The food was amazing, each dish was better than the one before it! The pork chop was the best pork I've ever eaten!

I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to stop at this restaurant. I have passed it more times than I can count, always on the... way to or from somewhere else, each time making a mental note to stop in the future. Tonight I planned on visiting another nicerestaurant (I won't name) for an appetizer and a craft cocktail at the bar, and when I inquired about a seat, I was rudelydismissed by the hostess. Feeling slightly disappointed by the treatment, I headed toward another restaurant owned by a familyfriend, where I knew I could find an empty seat and delicious food and drinks. On my way I changed my mind and decided tofinally stop at Grillsmith. I'm so happy I did! That prelude is only to demonstrate the counterpoint I experienced at thismarvelous restaurant. I walked in, was greeted, seated, and my server introduced himself within minutes. He helped me choose acraft cocktail, a gingerbread Moscow mule, that was amazing. I then ordered the Spicy Thai Shrimp appetizer and the ChickenGorgonzola flatbread. The shrimp was exactly what I expected, spicy, sweet, easy. Just to be clear, it was delicious, but not asexciting as everything else. The flatbread, for example, was inspired. The flatbread crust had a sweet and savory thing going onthat I liked, but on top the sweet caramelized onions played off the salty gorgonzola cheese and strips of chicken, taking it toa whole other level. I saved half for lunch later, leaving room for dessert, a Toasted Marshmallow martini and creme brulee. Myserver warned me early on that the martini was wonderful, but sweet, best saved for dessert. He was absolutely right, it wasfantastic! The top of the creme brulee looked like stained glass, almost completely transparent and thick, the center was not as"custardy" as I'm used to. I attribute this to the Grand Marnier which added this subtle hint of orange, giving this ubiquitousdish a level of depth I'm not used to. If that were the end of my experience, I would happily recomme Read more
