Let me tell you something, this place has the best food ever, I live in Venice and I drive the 30 mins to go there. The food is... made with love and care. The owners are super sweet and really nice about everything. The price is worth it cause you get realfresh quality food. I?m obsessed with ramen and this is the only place that has ever made me happy. Everything is filling andthe atmosphere is great, love how quite/small the place is. This location is very nostalgic for me. 30 years ago it was Sub Concious and it became my go-to sandwich shop. They've been gone... for years now. ???? But then Ssam Bar opened in the same spot. I've eaten here, takeout & inside, at least a dozen times, eventhrough Covid (takeout only then). Everything I've had - and I love to explore a menu - is superb. The staff is fun, helpful,friendly, and glad to help figure out whatever you don't understand. The menu is well divided by style with good descriptions tohelp out. And did I mention everything is delicious? The strip plaza building has been around for decades but there are curbcuts and there is handicapped parking right in front. Not what I expected from the high ratings/reviews. Is Korean food supposed to be extremely sweet??? I was burping garlic ????... all night after eating here! Yuck! The pot stickers were delicious but the bulgogi for two was CANDY..... not coming here again. Read more
Pros: So authentic, amazing flavors, fresh ingredients, good value, great people - doing a brisk dine-in and take-out business... mid afternoon- seemed like lots of regulars Cons: Vagrant hanging out in front, came in several times asking to use facilities,asking for samples etc. - when he approached our table, the owner finally asked him to leave, but up till then I feel they wereway to accommodating - (no I'm not a homeless "hater" but I think there are reasonable boundaries to expect frombusinesses..."restrooms for customers only" etc.) Fantastic food though, highly recommended- looking forward to working throughthe menu!
