A second poor experience at Pascone's. We were there with a group of twelve about seven months ago or so. The food then ranged... from good to very good. But the big problem was that it took almost an hour to get our food. The waiter did mention that theywere doing their best as this was still during the pandemic and staffing played a small part. Last night as a group of ten itwas even worse. Again the food ranged from good to very good. But again, our food never appeared. After 50 minutes fromordering, I went to the hostess and asked to talk to the manager, She said the owner was there and would stop by to talk to me. Never saw or talked to the owner. We finally got our food a little over an hour after we ordered....and no one apologized (notthe waiter nor the owner). For perspective, we arrived a little early for our 6 pm reservation and the place was only about 30%full. After ordering, we watched as numerous tables that arrived well after us received their food long before we did. Weactually felt like the restaurant was embarrassed as they seemed to generally ignore us during most of our wait. It got to thepoint that I actually got up and got water for the table when everyone's glasses were almost empty. Look, things happen...andit appears that either our order got misplaced or they have a serious kitchen issue....but the worst part was despite our askingabout our food after 45 minutes and then again after an hour, there was zero in the way of apologies or concerns. It was as ifthe restaurant didn't care we were even there. I am not bashing the food at all, which generally was good....but as customers,we felt ignored and unnecessary. We recently moved to Sarasota from northern NJ, so of course our standards for Italian food are high. Pascone's was a good find... and they are the best Italian restaurant we've eaten at so far. We have had many of the dishes on the menu and have never beendisappointed. The servers are pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, and on point. If you want a great Italian meal in Sarasota, Ihighly recommend Pascone's. Read more

We were in to celebrate our anniversary. Our sever was outstanding! I had the Grilled Bronzini, Fennel, Basil, Ginger, & Lime... Marinated, oven Blistered tomatoes, Fennel & Artichokes. It was cooked to perfection was was so flavorful! My wife had theRigatoni Scarpariello with chicken breast, red pepper flakes, fresh rosemary, garlic lemon butter sauce and BocconciniMozzarella. I should have known to turn around and leave when I saw the place was empty for happy hour. Happy Hour menu sucks and the drink... prices are that of a high end restaurant! One tall Bacardi and coke was $10 and it was a weak pour. I get TWO tall ones atDuffy’s for $9.25. It was a complete ripoff. The food is just mediocre. The pizza was dripping with oil, so much so that whenI picked it up all of the toppings slid off. It was the worst Margherita pizza ever. The owner should be ashamed charging thoseprices for happy hour just because we are in a pandemic. Now I know why the place was empty. Better service, better food, andmuch better prices at many other places. I will never return. Read more

So glad we found this restaurant after visiting this area the past couple of years for our daughter’s rowing events at Nathan... Benderson Park. If you are visiting this area for a rowing event, or on vacation, or a local, you MUST come to Pascone’s!!!!We will be eating here EVERY time we come to the area. My husband and I were very impressed with the sophisticated vibe anddecor. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable - nice to see they take pride in providing great service. Thebartender (young lady) made us the best cocktails at the bar before our dinner. Without exaggeration, the appetizer, entreesand dessert ordered were outstanding! The portions are generous, and flavors are on point. We had the calamari, snapperFrancaise, chicken Sorrentino, and for dessert the Meyer lemon cake. The owner (very classy lady) came around a few timeschecking to make sure everything was to our liking and our water glasses topped. The gentleman playing the keyboard had animpressive repertoire and played nonstop the entire time we were there. He brought a lovely musical atmosphere that providedenough pleasant background music without being loud. He is very talented indeed. The food is clearly the main draw, andeverything else just contributes to its overall excellence. Wish we had a restaurant like this where we live. We went their to celebrate our 28th wedding Anniversary. It was our 1st visit..but certainly won't be our last! That was simply... the best Italian food I have ever gotten at a restaurant ( and I'm married to an Italian!)!!! The place is beautiful, they had avery talented piano player and the service was amazing! We had the calamari to start - amazing! Then I had the "Linguine Vongle" (clams over pasta in a garlic white sauce)....I wanted to turn up the plate and drink the sauce...lol. My wife ordered the"Lasagna Bolognese"....we shared and I can testify to it being second only to her homemade lasagna!! To just wrap a bow on theevening: my wife told our waiter we were there for our Anniversary and he brought us a slice of this FANTASTIC lemon cake!Basically: if you want ridiculously good Italian food and outstanding service - THIS IS THE PLACE!! We loved it so much, wereturned with friends. Once again everything was just perfect: the food,the ambience, the service...not changing my review abit,except to say we tried a few different dishes and was happy to enjoy another amazing dinner experience, with not one personleaving disappointed.
