As soon as we walked in I greeted the lady by saying, "hello. How is your evening?" She turned to me all crazy and replied with,... "EXCUSE ME, DO YOU KNOW ME!" Wow, this is your greeter? We felt very uncomfortable right off the bat. The Gentleman sat us atour table and apologized to us for her actions. Within a few minutes, I told the wife I was uncomfortable and we decided toleave and give our business to someone else. That lady is absolutely, crazy and SHOULDN'T be the, "greeter".... let alone, there, at all!!! (Crazy bi!@#) Don't give them business!!! Read more

I have literally walked by this place many many times and never had a chance to stop and dine, This time I was able to visit and... I'm glad I did it. The door is a portal to the past, a well kept dated restaurant is clean and well organized. The owner, alovely elder lady is proud of telling you all about the history of the establishment. Once visited by the wealthy and famous, itwas the place to be! The dishes are a delightful jump in the past, curated with love and we'll assembled to satisfy both lookand flavor. I had the pate of venison and duck liver and the wiener schnitzel, together with a lovely Beaujolais. Both very verydelicious. I will be back for sure. Read more

We had a party of 14 and an empty restaurant. My counterparts are…difficult to please. We all had wonderful service, wonderful... food and a fantastic ambience on a Saturday night. The reviews here were a little disheartening but I’m so glad we gave it achance. Read more

I am horrified by the awful service we received at this place during our Mother's Day lunch experience. I think they are not... even qualified for a single star. My husband took a reservation for Mother's Day at this french restaurant because we had beenhere before a few years back and also since I love french food, it came as a natural choice for him. We arrived promptly andwere received by a frowning elderly lady, who literally yelled at us as she looked up our reservation. We ignored her behaviordue to her age. Also, as it was day of celebration, we didn't want to spoil it for us. After being seated, we were received by alady server who wasn't very happy to see us. When we asked a few questions about the menu, she rolled her eyes. I found it quitestrange. Throughout the lunch, there wasn't any kind words expressed by the entire team. I saw the hostess (the elderly lady)visit all the tables around us asking about their food, but never once came to ours. The server also never came to our tableafter the food was served to ask if we needed anything else or to refill our drinks or water. They promptly handed us the checkas our food was getting over, no mention of any desserts or anything. Basically made me feel that this Mother's Day celebrationwas a worthless waste of time. A beautiful day of celebration with my son and husband was crumpled by these RACIST people. Ifound these folks extremely unfriendly and almost felt like I was in the old segregated US. I liked their food but my pride willnever let me set foot at this restaurant ever in my life again. The owners and the server were rude and impolite and I stronglythink that if they continue such behavior, they are not going to survive long in this ever changing cultural Bay Area scene.Horrible experience!!! Terrible experience! We had a terrible experience at La Mere Michelle on Mother’s day. I had booked a table for lunch for the... three of us (my wife and son). When we arrived for lunch, there was no one at the reception. After waiting a bit, an older ladycame by. It is hard for me to describe what happened next, because I have never experienced anything like this in 23 years ofliving in the bay area. This lady had a permanent scowl on her face. There was no greeting, no welcome to the restaurant.Instead, we were met with a tone of voice that seemed demeaning and condescending. She almost shouted at me when she asked formy name. Because it was mother’s day, I had a camera bag with me that I had put down on the floor as I was waiting. She shovedmy bag away with her feet. It was so bizarre. We thought she was having a bad day and decided to ignore it. We got a table, andwe thought things would improve from here on. However, the server we got seemed to act the same. No greeting, no welcome. Shejust gave us the menu. No explanation of the menu or the specials of the day. When she came back, I asked her what came with aparticular dish I was interested in. She replied that all dishes came with x y and z (I don’t remember what they were) in thesame condescending kind of tone. Even my wife commented to me that that just sounded so rude. From then on no one came by to askhow the food was, even though she did the same for the table next to us. The water glasses were never filled. When we finished, she came by and handed us the bill. We were thinking of getting some dessert, but this was never an option for us it seems. When we mentioned that to her, she said something like: “oh I’ll get you dessert if you want”. Of course we were nevergoing to get any dessert at this place after this. We have never felt so insulted at any restaurant. We have lived here forover two decades and this has never happened to us. It was so bad that for the first time in my life I ref Read more

Been here for dinner and lunch on weeknights and and weekends and had a lovely time. The building is old but well-kept, quiet,... and elegant. The food is tasty and service is warm. A great place to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends and loved ones. Willdefinitely be back. Read more

Absolutely exceptional. This restaurant is as much about the excellent food as it is about the experience. Hands down some of... the best food I have ever had the privilege of indulging in. The owner personally came to our table and, upon learning it wasour first time at her establishment, proceeded to grant us a personal tour of her distinguished, personally arranged formaldining room. She spoke with an air of loving pride about the hand-picked chandelier from Prague and the marvelous painting by alocal patron which represents many important people in her life. We watched as she interacted with the other diners as well. Itwas a tremendous gift to have chosen this place to dine. Every single morsel, from the French Onion Soup and Seafood Crepe tothe fresh bread and Chicken Forestiere, was a showcase in beautiful culinary execution. All that we experienced was provided foran extremely reasonable price (much more so than many “cookie cutter” chain restaurants) and delivered with a superiorstandard of quality. Many thanks for reminding your guests of what life-memory dining is really about. If you like this review, let me know with a thumbs up :) Read more

Came here for lunch on a weekday after spending some time admiring cherry blossoms at nearby Hakone garden. We were greeted by... the friendly gorgeous owner. We ordered three appertizers and two entrees. Food came quick and they are all tasty. The bakedseafood supreme is so delicious. We left full and satisfied. The bill was just $65 for all the fresh seafood and tasty lampchop. Strongly recommend. Read more
