Thank goodness for this restaurant. Like many, I spent a nice day at the track. Was hungry but didn't want to eat high priced... track food. Was also rather dehydrated. Intended to eat at the Horseshoe based on good reviews. We quickly noticed that theplace was a chaotic noisy drunken packed out mess. Luckily, like a well hidden oasis, the Mexican Connection was right down theblock!!! A nice clean air conditioned restaurant with tasty reasonably priced food. Perfect. Read more
Excellent authentic Mexican food - and best margaritas in town! Walking distance to the track. Lively bar. Love it here.
The food is good but we’ve had two problems now ordering to go. The first time we were given someone else’s order and the... restaurant called, apologized and compensated us next time. Now, we ordered and our pick up time was 4:45. We showed up right ontime and when we went inside to pick it up the lady said the ticket wasn’t printed out. We had to wait another 10-15 minutesfor it to be ready. Then they said it wasn’t ready because they weren’t sure about the meat with the nachos. We stopped in for some drinks. He ordered a Corona, while I had a couple of skinny margaritas. We were greeted by the bartender,... who was very nice. One of them seemed less involved with actually taking orders and more about the social aspect, but who am Ito judge, lol. The complementary chips and salsa were great. The margaritas were yummy. The atmosphere outside as we werewalking in was gross and a little concerning as a worker carried a metal container of something out back. Was pretty delish! We ordered to go with masks, but waited outside where they had tables so we could have a drink to go. You can... thank the 'Rona for that. We ordered a burrito, enchilada, and tamale for each of us. More than enough! Great Spanish food! Read more
Absolutely delicious food and relaxed casual atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Prices were excellent too!... Overall a great experience--I'll definitely be returning when I am back in the area! (Just a tip: It was busy when we came inand no one saw us at first so we just sat down at a table, but they prefer to seat you themselves. Just a heads up! New restaurant #5 New restaurant #1 of 2019 Review: Service - Excellent Portions - Huge! Food - Very good! I had the Mango... Jalapeño Scallops over Grits. Soooo good. Mark had the Shredded Beef Chimichanga. He didn’t care for the spicy sour cream.But otherwise was good. Restrooms - Clean Temperature - I was a little cold but we were sitting near the door. Green - Yes! Compostable straws. And cardboard to-go containers. Overall a good dinner experience. We would definitely cone back. Read more
