A friend and I visited Scallions a few days ago. As a local, it was my first time eating here. Kieran was our server. He was... so attentive and we never felt rushed. Overall the food was good. We ordered vegan items, in my opinion, the dishes are a bit overpriced as the portions were small.... The falafel could be bigger pieces. The fried green tomato was worthy. The wild mushroom dish was plain as was the presentation.As one who forages for wild mushrooms, I expected more. The fritter dish was very flavorful yet the fritters themselves wereslightly dry. I had the day off from work for my birthday and I knew it must have been an amazing place when it was packed during lunch on a... Tuesday! I had heard of Scallions from a vegan group (I am vegetarian), and I got the falafel wrap which I loved!! For dessertmy wife and I shared their malted chocolate caramel pie, and I was excited to see they had non-alcoholic beer!! I have seen itsold in stores but never in restaurants. We just had a lot of time in between finishing our plates/ being given the dessertmenu, and then again getting the check. They are a very busy place though, so while I am putting down 4 stars I want to ensurepeople know I really think it is a great place to check out. We started with Scallions flat bread, with caramelized onions, artichokes, olives, melted Havarti cheese, arugula and balsamic... dressing. Followed by Quinoa salad and I had the Rueben panini. Fantastic flavors in all of the lunches. The salad that camewith Rueben was fresh, crispy and crunchy. Not that we needed desert, we chose the Red Velvet cake, better than Mon ever made.Sorry mom.
