Pleasantly surprised that our table was ready when we arrived, it being Travers night. Service was prompt but unrushed. ... Substitution requests were cheerfully accepted. The vegetarian in our party was accommodated. Steak was prepared exactly asordered. Fine place to bring out-of-town guests as noise level is much lower than typical during track season. Not inexpensivebut a good value considering the high quality of food/service. Don’t skip the popovers. There’s a reason why restaurantsstay in business as long as Sperry’s. Read more
I feel sorry for the chef at Sperry’s. We just come back to our hotel after dinner. The food was outstanding. The problem was... everything else. We had horrendous service. After being seated it took forever to get someone to take our drink order. Ourwaiter then admittedly told us that he did not realize the drinks sitting at the bar were ours after walking by them for 20minutes. Then our appetizers had the same experience. They sat to the point they had to be “remade” because they sat solong. It was well over an hour before we finally got our meal. We had to steal place settings from the empty table next to us asthey never replaced our utensils. The manager came out and apologized and murmured that they’ll take something off the bill.They did take a $50 bottle of wine I buy for $22 off our bill. It’s sad because the food was really good. A wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food. The charcuterie board was one of the best combinations of cheeses, meats, salads,... and veggies we've had anywhere! The cost was also a great value for what was on the plate. A very large serving size. SeafoodScampi was a delight ...oh, and make sure you get one of their signature popovers.... Great cheesy taste! We had a very nice dinner last night at Sperry's. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. I had the... crab stuffed salmon which was very tasty and my wife had the chicken under a brick, which was very juicy and flavorful. We ateearly so it was quiet and very pleasant indoors. Read more

Worst dining experience we have EVER encountered. Avoid at all costs. Took over an hour and a half to get food. When it... finally arrived fish was tasteless. Drinks in tiny glasses filled with all ice. During our stay 2 other tables cancelled theirorders and walked out. Worst of all the manager was completely unapologetic and said “ you can get dessert, that’s the bestI can do”. Why would we do that it’s practically midnight and would take 2 hours. We had a great meal on a busy Friday night. I absolutely loved loved the smoked Trout dip and my Filet Mignon was made to... perfection. My dining partner was very satisfied with the Swordfish special and he absolutely loved the beef carpaccio appstarter. It was definitely worth the trip. Ok so I get that service can be a hit and miss at places’ BUT the SERVICE WAS GREAT here, and the food was spectacular. My... steak was cooked to absolute perfection.
