Wow! We had a group of 7 for dinner Saturday night - we were all impressed with the authentic German atmosphere and food! The... hostess was the owner and gave us background on the restaurant and history of the paintings. The waitress was extremelyfriendly I had a gluten free starter salad with French dressing then the salmon with gluten free German potato salad! Thewaitress was knowledgeable about gluten free options and checked with the kitchen to provide the safest options. I also had acocktail with Titos! Our dinner and drinks were extremely affordable. We came here with my parents to check out this German supper club they have been raving about. We were so lucky to meet the... owner & his son when we went. The history of this building & family owned business is so special that we will never forget ourexperience here. This supper club is very aesthetically pleasing with each piece hand picked out. The staff wears traditionalGerman clothing such as dirndl & really sets the atmosphere. The beer selection is superb & their cocktails are delicious. Passing through the area I made a special trip out for the Friday Fish Fry. The fish was really tasty with a light crisp... breading and tasty fish (haddock I think). Sides were uneventful and the coleslaw was so sweet it was inedible for me, but thefritters were delicious. Arrived about 4:30 and waited at the bar only about 15 minutes until we were seated; just long enough to get drinks. Mine was an... old fashioned and one of the best I've ever had. Our waitress was polite and efficient. We had good fish dinners (excellentfritters and the German potato salad was a nice option) and were all done by 5:30. Highly recommend the Dorf Haus as a goodexample of a Wisconsin supper club. Make sure you arrive early if you don't have reservations. The wait quickly becomes over anhour and a half on Friday nights. Read more
