I've eaten at plenty of Italian restaurants throughout my life, hands down the best. The food took a little long but after... getting our entrées I understood why...absolutely amazing. My wife almost always complains of her pasta being bland this wasnot the case. When I don't hear a peep out of her that's usually a good sign. The dipping sauce for the bread and calamari wereso tasty I wanted to order a side to eat by itself. We were definitely hungry so we're gonna have to go back just to be sure itwasn't in our imagination. My compliments to the chef everything was perfect from apps to dessert. Read more

In town from NJ with family for son’s baseball tournament at URI. Locanda is attached to The Holiday Inn. The night before... when we arrived we went to Locanda’s bar. Noticed Locanda was packed. How can an Italian restaurant attached to a Holiday Innbe good? I am 100% Italian from Jersey and hard to please. The next night after a long hot day at the fields we decided to giveLocanda a try. Wow!! Unbelievably delicious! Homemade pasta and fresh ingredients! Spectacular service! Sandra was our serverand also made a great martini. Locanda is a must visit! And I mean it! Great!! 5 stars!!! Fantastic meal and experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming but the food is what you will want to come for again... and again. This is my second time here and I felt I had to write the review after having two amazing meals in a row along withsuch great service. The first time I had the homemade pappardelle with a mushroom butter sauce cooked perfectly. This time Icame with a friend, she had spaghetti and meatballs and I the homemade ravioli with the most delicious, creamy ricotta fillingwith a beautiful light sauce that did not over power the ravioli but rather complimented it perfectly. As for the spaghetti andmeatballs…not a drop left on my picky friends plate. She loved. Def 5 stars. Will return. Read more

Had the breakfast buffet and it was completely undesirable. Eggs were from the drive variety that you add water to standard... cheap wheat bread for toast that you need to toast yourself boxed fruit of the cantaloupe melon variety bottled juices that aregrab and go sausage that are clearly either boiled or microwaved because there's no browning on them and potatoes are the samething. 13 bucks a person and very undesirable. Service was okay but nothing you'd write home to Mom about. Just okay ... Onehostess who sits at the bar You walk up to her and pay her nobody checks on your tables or anything like that...
