While the location is great and the staff is kind, the food is not good. As an Asian I know my food. This place didn?t have... anything good. No good flavors that make me want to come back to the location. Overall food is oily and has no authentic flavorsof India. For the price of the food, the food is not worth it. I will say this the staff is kind and welcoming. Hence the twostars just for that. Read more

Indian food to the finest at best price possible. This place gave me a reason to visit this small town outside SF. The food is... brilliant and so is the service. The lady here is really considerate about her guests and takes care of their preferences. Thefood taste is authentic especially for vegetarians. There are good options to choose from even for starters. Pricing isbrilliant. We ended up paying 85$ for 5 folks who ate their heart out. Awesome place. Must recommended if you are in this town. Feel somewhat bad because I don't normally write negative reviews, but our experience was pretty bad. We waited for 15 minutes... to be helped while the server was on her phone. When we got the food it was pretty so-so. 3 or 4 little pieces of lamb in thelamb tikka felt pretty stingy for an $18 entree. And there was also an incessant banging near in the kitchen (guessing they wereprepping for the next day). If you can, skip this place and go to the city. Read more

Masala chai and Vegetable Samosa is a must. In this SF weather having a hot Masala chai was pure bliss???? Momos are like a... cabbage sabzi ( if you like North Indian style momos, don?t take this) Read more

I went on a Sunday evening. The masala tea is good. For $4 you get a good quantity. The momos are a disappointment though.... Please don?t order! The samosas are nice as well. Read more

I stumbled upon Sartaj once before while walking through Sausalito just before the CoVid19 shutdown. It?s a tiny cafe/restaurant... that is def family run! Today, it was mid afternoon. Didn?t have lunch yet. Found Caledonia Street from memory. A crowd ofpeople were eating outside in the blocked off pedestrian patios on the street. Went inside to order chicken tikka masala. Itcomes with basmati rice. Also ordered the almond chai tea (which is help yourself). The dispenser was at the bottom so there wasonly a mouthful or two of chai. Took awhile for the dispenser to be refilled. My food came and was delivered promptly. Gottasay the food was not hot temperature wise. Maybe it took some time to get brought out. Disappointing. Needed a little salt tobring out the flavor of the tikka masala. The chunks of chicken were dry :( I could have added an extra $4 on to get veggies andnaan. I was not THAT hungry. Passed. I really have to try this place when the restaurant?s kitchen isn?t so overwhelmed. Thefood probably would be hot and taste well seasoned. Food: 3.5 stars ?? Ambiance: 3.5 stars ?? Family effort for running thisrestaurant: 5 stars ?? Read more
