Our FAVORITE restaurant in Savannah. Drew and I went to Alligator Soul last night for the second time. The staff is incredible.... They are very attentive and make you feel so valued and important. From the moment you sit down and are offered menus to havingyour leftovers taken to the back to be packaged, it was all excellent. Our drinks were great and very well crafted. They wereexciting twists on classic drinks. We thought to mention the bread and butter. Simple but so impactful. The crust of the breadand the bread itself had great flavor. The butter was packed with herbs and complemented it well. The carving board is handsdown the BEST carving or ?charcuterie? board in Savannah. Some highlights are the veil bone marrow, Savannah Bee Companyhoneycomb, candied alligator, and super yummy and high-quality cheeses. Our one comment is that the candied alligator was toughthis time. The alligator tempura, alligator fritters, and alligator chorizo mac and cheese are all fantastic takes onalligator. Each of them is rich with a unique flavor combination and terrific textures. These three dishes you can NOT miss outon. Last but not least, the beef filet? The meat was beautifully prepared at medium rare. It simply melts in your mouth. I?mnot exactly sure what the butter was on top, but I could have eaten a bunch of it. The mashed potatoes seasoned very well andhad a great texture. The asparagus was fresh but could have been tossed in something with a bit more flavor. Although weplanned on getting dessert, we were so satisfied with our dinner that we could no longer fit it in. After looking over the menu,we knew it would have been a difficult decision as they all looked amazing. Read more

Best food I had in Savannah. It was more of a dining experience than just going in for a meal. The way they describe the food... brings it to a whole new level, when hearing about the specials or asking questions in regards to the meals. The duck wasflavorful and cooked perfectly. If I had room for dessert I would have ordered that as well because they each sounded fantastic.I would go back just for the bread! Read more

This place is arguably pricey but worth it. A great adventurous dining experience with exotic meats. Most items were very tasty,... and I'm glad I booked the place for the time I'd be in town. Delicious from the beginning to the dessert. I will go back whenI'm in town again. If you're an adventurous eater who would like to try unusual meats, this is a great place for it. Also prettyclose to great places to walk before or after the dinner. Read more

Lovely dining experience. Went here for our 5 year anniversary and the service and food are great. We were pleasantly surprised... that the entrance is below ground. There's stairs below the sign that led us to a below ground entrance...I found that cool andcute. The staff was great and good was amazing. If I ever go back I'll make sure to get the alligator chorizo Mac n cheese allto myself and not share. The ribeye was good BUT I think I enjoyed the Mac n cheese even better. It was super creamy and savory.Reservations are highly recommended. Read more

What a fantastic meal! It?s in a basement but it?s romantic and cozy. Service was great and attentive. Drunken mussels and... gumbo were awesome and the elk chop was cooked nicely. Glad I got the banana beignet. It?s gone in two minutes. Read more

I swing through Savannah regularly and I'm always looking for something new and different. The name Alligator Soul caught my... attention as I walked past the place, so I checked out the posted menu. When I saw the Alligator Chorizo Mac & and Cheese, Ithought "That's definitely different". I had to try it. It's a cozy little cellar style restaurant that is reminiscent of anunderground Jazz club, unfortunately no live music. The bartenders/waiters were friendly and possess a good knowledge of theirwine selection, which was quite good. I order my meal and it was love at first bite. My first impressions is that the place issolid. I'll be eating my way through their menu on future visits. Read more
