Beautiful atmosphere. Our waitress Shelby was very nice and attentive. The food was great and came out super quick!! The... fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve ever had. My husband got the gumbo which was excellent as well. The pretzelappetizer was super as well. There was salt and sugar on it which just took it over the top. A nice little place with great food. The Savannah smash drink was delicious. For starters we had the crab cake and pretzel with... beer cheese. Both were delightful. Our main courses were the red snapper on risotto and pecan crusted salmon on sweet potatosmash. Both of the meals were savory and delectable. They were very good. Then for dessert we had the pecan pie and peachcobbler. Sweet and tasty. We would both highly recommend this place. Read more
I was absolutely impressed by the wonderful atmosphere, staff, and presentation at the River House, but would offer two pieces... of advice: to whit, the low country boil served two to four people easily. This should be clear on the menu or made so by theserver. It broke my heart to leave all the oysters and mussels untouched. $60 seemed a trifle high but I was so set on thatmeal I splurged. It was delicious (except the corn, that should have been left out since the season is clearly passed.) but noone save for a competitive eater could finish the platter. I also had the bisque because, well, bisque. It was sublime. I couldbarely walk after a meal like that! Absolutely terrific but definitely a meal to be shared. My partner was pleased with hisgrouper. Sidney, our wait person was delightful, attentive, and efficient. The food was very good. One had Shrimp and Grits and thought... it was very good. Another had Bourbon Salmon and liked it. I had steamed oysters and Lobster & Crab Bisque. Both wereenjoyable. But the oysters, though prepared well, were quite small. I heard another table say the same. Desserts were PeachCobbler and White Chocolate Coconut Pie. Both were delicious. Maybe the best item was a Roasted Old Fashioned. omg! Wish Ihad ordered it! I will tomorrow. The atmosphere is absolutely impeccable! Such nice luxurious decor, old historic furniture with the overall feeling welcoming... you in! The cocktails were nice, and had a wonderful wine selection. Staff was very attentive, even considering our group wasquite large! My only negative thing to say, was the food. Unfortunately my salmon was so dry that it was tough to chew. One ofus ordered a steak with no pink and it came back even a bit more raw than I like it! Which is saying a lot LOL. The staff againapologized and was so kind, but it was unfortunate considering we had heard so many great things about the restaurant! Read more
Our first dinner on our first visit to Savannah. We were greeted pleasantly by the people at the hostess stand and quickly... seated at our table. Our server,Shelby, took good care of us. My wife tried and liked the Georgia peach margarita. We startedwith the crab cake which was tasty. My wife had potato soup and the shrimp and lobster roll sandwich with coleslaw. I had thebourbon salmon with pecans on a bed of greens and sweet potato. Both were very good. Dessert was chocolate and hazelnut breadpudding and coffee, also very enjoyable. Read more
Beautifully located near the water. Seated expeditiously. Service was phenomenal. The only reason I rated this place 4/5 stars... is because the food is as bland as appears in the picture attached. Cocktails, however, were very creative and effective. Imageis of their signature dish, paella. Read more
Highly recommend. Stopped here on a whim with my husband and two small children. They are child friendly, excellent service, and... amazing food. I highly recommend the pecan bourbon salmon. Drinks were also excellent. Will definitely return. ?? Edit: wereturned the next day and the drinks, food, and service were all consistently good.
