The food here really exceeded my expectations! While the atmosphere is nothing to write home about (average Chinese restaurant),... the dishes I tried were incredibly delicious and satisfying. I loved the lemon "chicken" and the black pepper "beef". Theytasted meaty and were well seasoned and flavourful. The vegetables were also really fresh and cooked just right. Even theservice was wonderful. Our server was friendly and cheerful. It was a great experience and I'll definitely be returning. Read more

Great place to have a quiet meal of vegetarian food. Their deep fried seaweed rolls and vegetarian shark fin are a must-try.

My brother told me that the food of vegetarian restaurant is very good. Due to his comment, I have tried it's food this evening... via delivery. We ordered three dishes, namely assorted gluten, deep fried taro fish, and braised vermicelli with minced beefand preserved vegetable. Our first impression is positive because the food was still warm, their appearance look good and theportion of each is quite large. On the whole, the food is well, but the taste is a bit over-sweet. However, our comments cannotbe over generalized because it is our first time to try its food nf we haven't visited its setting yet. Read more

April 2022 3.5? Hidden in the back of a small plaza, you can easily drive by and miss this restaurant. This restaurant has been... operating for a long time and for good reasons. If your looking for a variety of vegetarian options, this is a decent choice.Though not every item is amazing, there are certainly good dishes to be found. Stuffed Bean Cured Rolls 4.59$ were pretty good.Soft yet crunchy with a variety of mixed vegetables inside. Mock Chicken with Sesame 15.99$ was very crispy, though with takeout, it ended getting a bit soggy. Eating in, this would be a good choice. Note that the actual pieces of mock Chicken has gonedown. The deep fried pieces included battered mushroom and cucumber. Assorted Gluten - medium 10.99$ is a favorite. Offered atall Chinese vegetarian restaurants, the flavors at this restaurant is not as intense. Still good none the less. VegetarianChicken 6.60$ this was ok. Not all places offer this, so worth a try. Comes with a side of Ginger dip. They are also onUber. Parking is limited as the plaza is small. Read more

There are three dishes I always order at Chinese vegetarian restaurants, and they're all featured in this post. Firstly, is the... assorted gluten ($8.99 for small), which is especially important to order at Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant as it will save youfrom becoming hangry. Maybe it's due to the after effects of COVID and being short staffed, but service is slow and over half anhour went by before the other dishes arrived. Within the gluten platter, the spongy puffs were served the traditional threeways: sweet and sour, curry, and soy sauce. While a little more subdued in it's flavour, especially the curry format, they werenice big pieces and a great texture. Usually, the sweet and sour puffs are my favourite, but Lotus' bean curd rolls stole theshow as they were wrapped tightly to be easily picked up, but still incorporated with enough space between the sheets to give ita lovely moist layered texture. Despite arriving with a lovely golden brown crust, the four bean threads sheet roll ($4.59 for2 pieces) was really soft - it almost seemed like the restaurant pan fried the rolls and steamed it to finish, rather than theother way around. It was disappointing as what makes this dish good is the crispy crust mixed with the saucy vegetables.Nonetheless, there were ample amounts of well-seasoned black fungus, carrots, bean sprouts, and mushrooms within the roll andthe layers of bean sheets weren't too thick. If this was just crispy, this would have been perfect. The last dish that is amust have for me at vegetarian restaurants is the stir fried noodles with mixed vegetables ($13.99) or loa hong giy noodles inCantonese. Lotus takes the time to properly toast the egg noodles so there are plenty of crunchy pieces to contrast against thesaucy vegetables. The gravy was spot on and the vegetables cooked through but left with crunch. This was well worth thewait. While visiting at lunch, expect a tea charge of $1.50 per person as they serve dim sum during this ti Read more

I?ve visited this restaurant more than 20 years. Their dim sum is still my most favourites. Seaweed roll is a MUST when I go... every time for dim sum. My family also loves the congee with mock seafood & mixed veg. This is a nice restaurant to go if youare looking for Chinese style without any onion & garlic in the food. Read more

First review for the new year (for New Year and Lunar New Year)! Glad things are opening back up so I decided to have a healthy... vegeterian dinner here. Let me start with the food. It came relatively quick and the portions are good size. Ordered the MockShark Fin to start. It was good but a little plain for me. I like mushrooms so I still enjoyed it overall. The Sweet and Sourdish's flavour (specifically the sauce) is similar to other places I've tried. So if you like sweet and sour anything, Irecommend this. Now the real star for me is the tofu. The size and taste is spectacular. There's veggie stuffing inside which isa nice touch. For the rice, rice is rice as Jokoy said. For the restaurant itself, they have a lot of tables and it wasn't toobusy when I went. Got a table pretty quickly. The staff is very attentive. They gave the menu and came over as soon as I'm readyto order. Only downside was they forgot the napkins and tea. Plus the pencil to write what to order wasn't even sharpened. Butoverall a minor inconvenience. Overall I enjoyed my visit here and recommend to keep this in your list if you ever decide to bevegetarian. If you're already vegetarian, I'm sure you heard of this place. Read more

As a vegetarian I was delighted to know that I could enjoy the foods of my childhood. The Sweet and sour mock chicken tasted... just like the real chicken that I used to order. The portions is good for two people. I give 4 star because price was slightlyabove average. The Wonton soup bought back any fond memories because it tasted exactly like in those days. Read more
