First time here! Absolutely amazing meal. We ordered the price fix meals and the portions were perfect! The variety of flavors... were incredible. The Brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection and exploding with favor. The Espresso Martini had a hint ofdifferent flavors that made it delicious! The duck and sweet potatoes were beyond tasty! I had a lovely solo dinner on Sunday at Malcom’s while on a business trip. I sat at the bar, and the service was great. As a... first timer there, they were good at explaining the menu and answered questions well. It was decent. Good food. Nothing profound. Moderate to small portions. The dessert was a complete let down. They need to be... more creative. The drink was very lack luster too. We were recommended this restaurant by a student at Union College, and are SO happy we went. From the first encounter with our... server (the owner's mother!!), to the drinks, the appetizers, and the meal, it was all so very delicious and enjoyable. I think our expectations were too high. The last time we went, it was a magical night at Malcolm's. The service was impeccable... and every last sip of drink and bite of food was perfect. This time- we had a very friendly waiter, but he seemed to forgetabout us for a while. Also, our drinks, although delicious, were mixed up and spilled all over our legs and feet- he offeredanother napkin but we just let it slide. There was a fruit fly imbedded in the ice in my husbands drink- we brought it to ourservers attention and that was it. Our food was good, don't get me wrong, but it was missing the same 'mmmm' factor that weremembered. There was a lack of seasoning on both dishes that could have elevated them both just enough to wow us. My dish wasall one texture and his dish was hard to cut. I'm appreciative of what a restaurant like this is trying to achieve and I'm sureour waiters skills will improve over time. It's just hard, as the consumer, to spend $200 on one meal- you want every moment,every sip, and every bite to be just right. This doesn't deter us from going to Malcolm's again, but we might try otherrestaurants before it in the future. Read more
This is THE place to eat in Schenectady. Nate, the owner, is super hands on. You'll find him in the kitchen, welcoming... customers, and checking individually on each table to make sure their food is exactly what they came for. This is high endquality, beautifully crafted eats and drinks. Locally sourced and creatively mouth-watering dishes. Don't waste your timelooking anywhere else. Read more
