The staff was incompetent and rude. I came in with my parents, sister, and sister's kids tonight (Saturday). A full two hours... before closing, the staff used several chairs to barricade the section of the dining room we were sitting in right after severalof us sat down and while the others were placing the order. We asked if they'd like us to move to the other section, and theyoung woman hesitated for a long time and finally said, "No, that's all right, you already here," and walked away. (Shortlythereafter, they barricaded the other section as well and apparently were only accepting to-go orders.) Meanwhile, the cashierread the order back to my sister incorrectly, and when she politely corrected her, the cashier became combative and insistedthat my sister was trying to change the order after the fact. She then made a big deal out of how gracious she was being infixing the order for us, and loudly called back to the staff in the kitchen that the mix-up was our fault. The food then endedup taking too long, and the young woman that brought it was cold, silent, and completely ignored us when we said thank you. Inever leave bad reviews for mere incompetence. I rarely leave bad reviews for rudeness. But this was too much. Suffice it tosay, I will definitely never return. Read more

I went into this location at 8:30pm tonight to place a to-go order. Google hours clearly say the restaurant is open until 9pm.... When I walked in, everyone looked at me funny and I asked if they were still open. No one answered me, so I asked again.Finally, the cashier answered and said “only for takeout”. Great - that’s what I am here for. The person who I believe wasthe restaurant manager then addresses the cashier talking loud enough for me to hear saying “credit card only”. At thispoint in time, I realize my business is not wanted, so I turn around and walk out without saying anything. It’s really a shamebecause I just moved to the area and where I came from, I loved my local McAlisters and frequented it at least 3x per month. Iwork in the service industry and never would turn away business before hours are over, so it’s a shame this happened. I willfind somewhere else to give my business in NWIN - McAlisters just lost a customer. Read more

My family and I came in today. The staff messed up our orders. They brought food meant for others to our table and argued with... us after we told them that nobody ordered those dishes. They then took those plates to another table and served them the foodthat had been at our table for minutes. They continued to bring out our food and mixed up all of our dishes. We didnt havemultiple things we had ordered, and my salad was put on a plate with another family members soup. They told us to just movethings around. We had 7 people in our group. We asked if we could move tables together so accommodate our group. They told usno. We moved a chair to the end of a six person table. They came over and told us it was against fire code for us to do that.That we were blocking exits. But they had chairs that they placed blocking all the exits. I know that this is a uniqueexperience to this location since I have been to other locations and had wonderful experiences there. They argued with us,messed our orders up and blamed us. Literally just left here 10 minutes ago and had to write a review asap. The lady that took our order was very very nice and... pleasant. However, when we received our food, the chicken and dumplings soup was disgusting. Gross to taste and also theconsistency of it was like oatmeal, it wasn’t like a soup at all. VERY VERY thick. We told someone who I assume was themanager. And she had the nastiest attitude ever. We are servers and know we cannot just return food that we don’t like. Butthat soup didn’t even look right and wanted something else. She was so rude about it and she made the whole GREAT experiencethat we had experienced from the first girl into an ugly one. Ordered a curbside pickup and was told that it would be ready at 1:23PM. Showed up a little early and waited patiently in my car... as instructed until 1:30, then decided to go inside as they may not have realized it was curbside (this has happened manytimes). I asked and they said that my food wasn’t ready yet. No biggie, I get it. Around the 15 minute mark I asked again andwas told it still wasn’t ready. I told them it had been almost 20 minutes since the time they said it would be ready and wasnot responded to. I continued to wait until 1:45PM and finally asked if I could just have my money back and cancel the order asI had to be back to work by 2PM. I was told that I couldn’t have my money back since they already started working on theorder. I pushed back and said that wasn’t acceptable and that I wanted my order cancelled as I had to leave or I’d be lateback to work. Nope. They insist that they can’t do it and I have to wait. My sandwich finally is given to me around 1:48PM,almost 30 minutes after the quoted time. I was not offered anything for the inconvenience, or even given the tea that I boughtwhile I waited like they normally do. After getting back to work I opened my sandwich and they didn’t even make it right. Iwill not be back, which is a shame because I used to be a regular here. The quality and service has gone down significantlysince Covid, while the prices have gone up. Read more

I love deli food and have never been here. I decided to order the French dip. It was a tasty but not perfect. The beef was... perfect, tender and well seasoned. The bread was the problem for me as it was too soft, it definitely could have been more denseand crusty to stand up to the dipping. The air jus was delicious as was the cucumber tomato salad. My only issue with the airjus was the dipping cup. The sandwich didn’t quite fit into it so dipping was a built sloppy. I would return but try adifferent sandwich or different bread. Because the beef was great and the staff knowledgeable and friendly I gave it 5 stars. Read more

Joseph was very patient with our ordering. While we were truly indecisive, due to it being our first time there, he took the... time to tell us the difference in the menu options. Patience is a virtue that is rare these days. Also his menu suggestions werepretty accurate. The food was good! Read more

Their sandwiches and salads are very good particularly the Savannah Salad! The reason they don't get a 5 star is that they... forgot my dressing for the salad on a to go order. I'll go back but I'll triple check that I have everything. Read more
