Went there about 6 with reservations. I had heard mostly great things about the food in spite of a few negative reviews. The... restaurant was about 1/4 full and we were promptly attended to by the man I believe to be the owner. He was very business likeand had little time for small talk, easy to understand considering he was doing everything but cooking. Our half litre of PinotGrigio came quickly followed shortly by stuffed mushrooms which were amazing. We both ordered the lamb shank special which alsowas served much faster than other places we had been to. It was delicious,cooked to perfection shrouded in potatoes and otherveggies. This restaurant was recommended to us and we were certainly not let down. It is very casual and comfortable, so don't overdress.... All of the food was great, but the mussels are a definite "must try". The homemade Marinara sause is used for multiple dishes,ask if you main uses this sauce, so your experience is not limited. This was the first time visiting Port Soiree and it was a wonderful experience. The dining room was perfect in size and the... decor very inviting. Service was top notch, friendly and helpful. The menu had so many tasteful choices we had a hard timechoosing our meal. We wanted everything. Appetizers were delicious. My wife had the stuffed mushrooms and I had the steamedmussels. As for the entrees, my wife had the pasta with tomato sauce from home grown tomatoes and I had the veal scaloppini.Delicious and the portions were perfect. Port Soiree is a hidden gem. I have been there for a few of my anniversaries and birthdays already. Everything always taste... amazing. If you like snails there a must try. Many of there menu items are so good. You will not be disappointed. Read more
We stopped in to grab some food while attending the Schomberg Fair, we were just looking for a place that was open on Saturday... evening which wasn't many. WOW were we surprised with the service and food. We sat on the patio as we had our 2 dogs with us,the staff was extremely friendly and brought water for our dogs without us requesting. The chorizo appetizer was great with justthe right sized portion. The lamb chops I had were phenomenal and the cooked vegetables were just as good, likely the bestasparagus I've ever had, and the other veggies were good too. My girlfriend had the fish special at the time which was parrotfish, which neither of us had heard of, it came with the same vegetables again amazing and the fish was tender, and with a nicemild flavor. The kids had the lava cakes for dessert and these were just as great as everything else. They seemed to be homemadeand not a heat and serve. We are looking forward to going back. Port Soiree is a simple gem in Schomberg, Ontario. It's set in a quirky house where we entered through the back door, pasted... one dining area then upstairs to the main dining room. The service was extremely attentive, the food excellent and ambiancelight. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was filled with locals as everyone was staring at us :-). We had themussels, cod cakes, veal and rack of lamb. Everything was exemplary. The only draw back during the visit was the selection ofthe beers was average.
