I?ve passed through Schulenburg, Tx many times but never stopped for food. Yesterday I stopped with friends and ate at the Real... Deal Soul Food Restaurant and it was so good! I had pork chops cooked and seasoned to tender perfection, tasty sweet yams, verywell seasoned cabbage and creamy mac and cheese with cornbread. The money I paid was well worth the amount of food Ireceived. If I had to state a negative, it would be that the young lady taking orders seemed to be alone. Once the restaurantgot crowded she could?ve used some help. She didn?t appear to be overwhelmed because she kept a pleasant attitude. It was solelyMY observation that they may need to hire someone else due to the growing popularity of the establishment. I loved the familyoriented feel. It was a very cozy and comfortable because they were friendly and hospitable to every person who walked in andout. The owners of the restaurant hugged the customers they hadn?t seen in a while and everyone who walked in stated how theyloved the people and the food. (I heard I must try the hamburgers next time!)
