Pretty setting, wonderful view of the River. We waited an hour and a half for our food. The riverhouse special was described... as a really special grilled cheese. Check out the picture and make up your own mind. Another order, the Thebes Gap saladarrived minus the chicken which the server brought in a bowl after the salad was being eaten. I understand that places are short staffed but this was unacceptable. There is a sign that clearly says ?please wait to be... seated? and me and my party (3 people) waited behind 3 other parties. One white man stepped from behind us (and others in line)& decided to walk up to a server and tell them they had a party of 14. After an hour of waiting not one single person workingthere even checked at the space that says ?please wait to be seated.? The parties in front of us left and went somewhere else.And still- nobody said anything to me and everybody else that was waiting. The table of 14 literally got sat before everyonein-front of us because this guy decided to be rude and cut the line & bother a server who was clearly flustered. but can i bemad at him? Honestly no? Because literally you?re telling me you are so short staffed that you can?t even tell the people thatare waiting that there?s a wait? Or that your short staffed and it?ll be about an hour? There were empty tables literallyeverywhere i looked??? Make it make sense? I was tempted to put an apron on and start taking orders myself.. Read more
While it is absolutely understandable that establishments can?t staff at this time, it?s not ok for restaurant staff to... completely ignore an entire entry area full of guest who are waiting for over 15 minutes. (The entire inside of the restaurantwas empty) Not once did staff acknowledge that they had over 15 customers waiting. So rude! We left and so did others. One of the most pleasant settings for drinks or a quick meal in Southeast Missouri. Outstanding beer and wine selection and a... view that cannot be beat. Watch the barges trek up the Mississippi and catch a train crossing the Thebes Bridge, built in 1905.Incredible place! Read more
