Came in to make a order excitedly and try this spot for the first time. And the gentleman working the counter said "it's been a... long day, what do you want." With a bad attitude the moment I walked in. Look I worked in restaurants for years, so I get what along day in the kitchen is like. The best catfish sandwich I ever had! I went back and got food for my boyfriend and he loved his food and dessert.
A $20 catfish dinner plate that resulted in food poisoning and tossing out what was left. Garbage in, garbage out. ????
It was the worst food I ever bought and for the price I was very upset and the chicken wings had no seasoning at all it was like... eating a bunch of fried batter with plain meat and the macaroni was sloppy and had no flavor of cheese and taste more like pastaand the sweet potatoes I know was out the can and all I can say is this was a insult to call this soul food and charge 20 is socrazy and anyone from another state would be very upset and it would be nice if I could get a refund or they could make meanother plate and try again Read more
I got oxtails. Very good. However ordered greens and received mac and cheese. I took a picture of menu on wall, because no paper... or website menue. I'll order ahead next time, because they're so busy there was a 30 minute wait time. Read more
Nice little family restaurant that serves southern style "soul food". It is located in the Skyway neighborhood, known for it's... rich cultural history. The food was pretty good. The service was great and our food was prepared quickly. Hopefully next time Igo, we can get this review up to 5 stars... they were out of the daily specials, Ribs and sides and no seasoning LOL, HOWEVER Iam certain my next experience here will improve! Me and my hubby were in the neighborhood for some bbq and catfish. Saw this place and went in. Food was made to order fresh, hot... and delicious. They also have a no salt or low salt options which was nice to see. The owner is very friendly. Read more
Food is probably a close 4. Just because it was hot and fresh. I had catfish which was fried nice and crispy and shrimp. Just... wished it was seasoned some flavor. But I added hot sauce and yum. Greens were good and tender and tasty. Rice and gravy had aweird flavor so not my fav. Sweet potatoes good and sweet. Didn?t try the bbq chicken because of the reviews but I may try nexttime. Best part was the service Freddy was super nice and excited to make sure I knew food was coming fresh. So may take a min.I appreciate when I ask hey what taste good and people give their opinions.
