It's so sad that in this age of good dive bars going extinct, Mike and his staff are so incredibly repellent. I've been getting... beers there for years and tolerated the super nasty bartender but now the bar (like THE BAR with the stools, is off limits.) Iasked "because covid?", "No, it's just reserved. You can have your beer in a booth" she said bitterly. The place was EMPTY. Ifigured it was rented for a party and left shrugging. Came back the next day, but got the same misanthropic attitude. Apparentlyyou have to be a *friend* to sit at the bar now. I'm a super easy going working class guy that has worked in the serviceindustry for many moons. This isn't anywhere close to normal, even for a sticky cash-only dump. And the chili is so bad you mayas well go get yourself some food poisoning at the Baranof instead. But if you want to experience an uber ELITIST staff (andobviously racist, according to so many other reviews) try it out. They'll treat you so bad it'll flip yer lid. I promise Read more
Huge portion sizes! My meal was a small, can?t imagine what the large looks like. The chilly has a kick to it but works well... with all the flavors. Tip: it?s right by a Trader Joe?s and Tesla supercharger. Read more
The Waitress was SUPER RUDE. My friend and I got inside and she already gave a look to us. English is not my first language but... I can communicate well, I just didn?t understand ONE word and she talked to me like if I was stupid. She was staring also at theguy who was getting the food for us, it was clear that he was uncomfortable. I feel really bad for him. We felt really notwelcomed. The place is not immigrants friendly. Rude, rude, rude. After being ignored for 10 minutes while my fries got cold I finally was able to get the woman's attention as... she was too busy to stop laughing and swearing loudly with her friends at the bar. I asked politely for ketchup for my now coldfries and she replied, "What!" I asked again and she rolled her eyes, stomped to the fridge to grab the ketchup and slammed thebottle on the table. It's to bad that she has such poor customer service because I might have gone back for the chili. Good place for greasy hamburgers and chili. Chili fries were tasty and hamburger patties could have been bigger to cover the... actual buns, but still good. Do I think this was life-changing chili? No, there's better chili elsewhere, but I get theneighborhood vibe and service was fantastic. Bring cash, they don't take credit cards. Read more
Great experience at Mike's Chili Parlor. I visited on a Monday night to a quiet bar. The bartenders were friendly and... considerate, it was not like some other reviews I had seen. I had the chili pasta and the chili fries and both were great. Thechili pasta is probably not exactly like Cincinnati chili but it was delicious nonetheless. Listen, it's a mess. But it is some of the best chili you'll have by a mile. Prices are good, servings are beyond generous, the... people are beyond friendly to a nerd trying to eat some chili. Read more
Went to this place once to try it out, what a mistake. The chili was alright, service was meh, and I accidentally left my... hydroflask there. Then when I called there the next day, I talked to a young guy who then asked another young guy who I heardheard say, "uhhh" and "I threw it away" ??? Why would you throw away a hydroflask?
