Shawarma King is definitely a local hot spot on the Ave near the University of Washington. This Mediterranean style restaurant... has a decently large menu at good prices. Their portions are quite large as well, which is always a plus, especially for localstudents. Parking outside can be a pain sometimes, but they have lots of seating inside and take out goes pretty quickly. Theymake their food fresh and are quick so there's not a lot of waiting around. I always go for the plates since it's a combo ofrice, meat, humus, salad and pita - you can't beat it. The staff here are always so nice too, they seem to always love a goodlaugh with the customers. Ah! Fantastic! The dolmas were perfect and not just drowning in sour, you can actually taste the flavors. The rice was perfectly... seasoned!!! Ah a dream. The baklava was not like the typical syrupy cloyingly overly sweetened pastry of many, many similarrestaurants in America. It is made in house and to their taste which happens to be my taste too!
