So just moved to the area from Illinois (where you definitely can'g get a good piece of fish!) and figured this place was like... Long John Silver's so I thought I'd give it a try. Not the biggest fan of Long John so I was hoping this was better. NOT....Not sure what kind of fish the "wild caught fish fillets" were but they weren't the freshest. Also the batter wassaturated with oil and you could tell they were just reheated because they did not look anything like the pictures in the menu. They were brown and extremely greasy and most of the batter was soggy and falling off the fish. The fries were ice cold. Theonly thing I could say was good were the hush puppies. VERY DISAPPOINTED! For what they charged I expected more. Long JohnSilvers sounds good after this meal and that's saying a lot. Sorry Captain D's but I am being honest. Read more
We used to LOVE coming to Captain D's. We come now because the food is still good, especially compared to other "fast food"... restaurants in the area. But the service and atmosphere have gone down terribly. The girl who took out order was completelyleaned over on the counter on her elbows, didn't look up at us more than once during the entire order. She walked thru thedining room with our plates like her boyfriend just dumped her. No personality no friendliness. You could hear entireconversations from the kitchen. I would rather hear laughing and work conversations like hey go grab some fries from the freezertype of talk (if any) than your plans to go to somebody's house and smoke weed, which I am not against, but we don't wanna hearabout it over lunch. Just not much to be desired besides the food for the most part. But the place was pretty clean so that's aplus as well. Read more
Not sure what has happened. Maybe just an off day. Service took a very long time. I get the same thing everytime I go to Sebring... to visit family. This last time I visited the food tasted unusually greasy and some of it tasted off. Needless to say my stomachwasn't happy with the meal I waited a long time to get. Read more
First time here I only tried the hush puppies. They were fair enough to give the place a try for dinner. Worst mistake ever. ... The food was lackluster, disgusting, and overpriced. The fish meal was saturated in oil, the butterfly shrimp were hard and allyou could taste was breading, the catfish was soggy, flavorless, and oversalted. I can't complain about the chicken or the Mac. The best of everything was the fried okra. I went through drive through and ordered a piece of cheese cake with my meals whichwas not given to me with my I had to go inside to tell them they forgot it. My first time having Captains Do?s and it?s really nothing special. I?m hear to talk about the staff. I don?t remember her name... but the girl working the window was so nice. They mistakenly over charged me and I didn?t even notice in the moment but, sheimmediately corrected it. When I was ordering and I told her I had never been there prior, she told me all the popular items.When my order came she made sure I had all the sauces I needed. We had a bit of small talk and I could tell that she was agenuinely nice person. I really wish I remembered her name. She?s amazing!! Read more
Arrived at about 4:10 PM. Placed our order. Drove up and paid. Had to wait with three other cars for our orders. Took about 12... minutes. We then left the parking lot and drove over to another parking lot and started to eat our meals. The french fries werelukewarm in both meals. My wife?s chicken meal, see the attached picture, looked like the chicken strips had been reheated. Theywere dried out and tough. Went back to Captain D?s parking lot and took the order inside to get it changed out. Meanwhile myorder of fish and shrimp was in the car getting cold. Took 12 minutes for them to replace my wife?s chicken strip meal. Ireturned to the car and ate part of my meal and it was not good at all, the shrimp were little tiny pieces of shrimp probablycorrectly called popcorn shrimp. I had started eating my meal when I had to take my wife?s meal back and at that time my frenchfries were lukewarm. Both my wife and I figured that after having to wait in the drive-through line for 12 minutes after payingthat our dinner order would probably be fresh. Big mistake. My wife tried to eat her second chicken strip meal. At least thefrench fries were hot but the new chicken strips were not much better than the first time around. My wife ate one strip and onehush puppie and said no I?m not eating any more of this and we ended up leaving the parking lot and throwing both meals out. Weare sorry we tried this place to eat. This was my first visit to this location. I was impressed. The restaurant was clean and in neat order. All of the staff were... wearing proper face coverings and it appears that they are taking extra steps to ensure everyone's continued Health and wellbeing. The restrooms were also very clean. I was greeted by a very personable lady that promptly took my order and even made afew suggestions. I took a seat and within just a few minutes my order arrived at my table. Large portions and properly cooked. Ielected for a slice of Key Lime Pie. It was EXCELLENT.... the perfect blend of sweetness and a bit tart that complemented themeal. Upon leaving I again engaged with the server.... Very friendly and personable. I felt welcomed and appreciated. I HIGHLYRECOMMEND that you stop by and give them a try. Read more
This was my first time eating at this chain restaurant. We stopped in and decided to try it for a quick easy lunch. The... battered fish was good. I had fries (mediocre) and fried okra not bad for fast food. I'd Def. Stop in for lunch again. Theemployees were friendly, fast, and accurate.
