It was grubby, and dirty, we had to wash our floors they smelt terrible. The curtains were moulding and there was dirt and cob... webs everywhere. The showers had mould and so did the Mirrors in the bathroom I?m incredibly disgusted with the state of thishotel and I refused to stay longer then I had to. DO NOT STAY HERE Read more

Room way too expensive. Room was small dark and noisey. No plug in small bathroom sink. This is like an economy motel. Only good... thing was the access to the beach. Very few rooms have ocean view most rooms are at the back opening onto the car park. Read more

Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Ocean view room is a nice idea for sure. Very noisy neighbours the 2nd night. I was not... impressed as I had requested somewhere quiet when I called to reserve months earlier. Read more

The Good: Location walk to everything, ocean view from some rooms which are along the backside and cost extra. Beds are... comfortable cleaning staff seems to do fine..ice machine works well. The Bad: Exterior is looking dated, price is abit highconsidering the age of building and that its nothing special really. Restaurant has changed and was not what we expected asviewed information online, it was suprising to us there was no breakfast at all for instance and mainly just Chinese food. TheUgly: if you have a problem at night and need to reach anyone they do not answer the phone and they do not have a nighttime deskperson available. I have never encountered this in all my life of staying at hotels and motels. So if you happen to have aparty going on next door you might not get any sleep at all. Its not wise to confront other guests on your own these days soeven if you pay $500 for two nights stay like we did, you might not be able to sleep. This really depends on who the otherguests are and how well mannered they are/brought up. There is a thing called respect and consideration for others that isseemingly lacking these days. If they would at least ANSWER THE PHONE AT NIGHT Iw old have given it 3 stars even without anactual staff person present at this location after hours. This is a lot of people to put together in a building withabsolutely ZERO security or supervision. Also IF there had been a real issue you cannot reach the local rcmp in this area for anon emergency noise complaint or party complaint as they are just too busy dealing with real emergencies?so reallly there is norecourse at all. If this thought bothers you as much as me best to stay somewhere a little better next time. I would have neverguessed or imagined that there would be no one to call after hours if a problem arose. . Bring your scuba gear, this place is a dive! This place also posts fake pictures of other hotels. One star only because pets... are allowed. The other star is water front. The rooms face the street/parking lot, however. Read more

We had the family suite and it was an absolutely beautiful spacious room! With a full kitchenette. And even better view of the... beach. John at the front desk was SO helpful, right from booking the room, to checking in. He even offered to help us carrything up to our room, which is above and beyond if you ask me! The wifi is super shotty. But the cable was fanatic so wedidn't mind too much. Will definitely come back! Read more

What we LOVED about the Driftwood Inn: - friendly and efficient ladies at the front desk -the view! -central location -the... balcony with glass -comfortable bed -getting a phone call to check to ensure we have outer door code -new heat pump keeps theroom at a comfortable temperature and it is very quiet! -quiet room 203 away from everyone -clean white towels & cleanwashroom -Well equipped kitchenette: clean quiet fridge, microwave/coffee & coffee maker, kettle, IKEA dishes & utensils -largeroom with a second bedroom -the start of some upgrades (heat pump, lighting, tv, items from IKEA, door handles, light switches, balcony chairs and glass). Could use new kitchen table and chairs with felt on legs to minimize noise to neighbours below.Better yet, get rid of the kitchen table & chairs and replace with an IKEA island with bar stools. Great for extra counter spaceand most guests will eat at the balcony table. -vinyl flooring (no carpet) Need to: -fix balcony sliding door and screen! Thereis a piece of metal track that is detached that someone could step on and injure themselves badly. People put up with littlequirks in their own home, but not on vacation. It is hard to access the balcony as it has been a long time since the tracks werelubed and as a result, the door is very difficult to open. The screen door is off its track completely. -fix the little thingsthat add up: scuffed walls could use a cleaning/paint, change out the shower curtain - needs a wash as it smells musty, cleanthe dish drying rack (the cutlery part is very dirty), give the balcony a sweep, clean balcony glass, table and sliding door. -abit more cleaning (under the beds hasn?t been done for some time and the beds are on wheels), clean the walls, baseboards andfloors with soapy water, give the balcony a good scrubbing, including the corners. -consider: leaving basic cleaning suppliesfor guests should they be inclined to spruce things up (clean microfibre rags, broom and dustpan, Windex & Read more
