Our first time trying this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good with good sized portions. Service... was good and the atmosphere is pleasing. If you don't live in Salem check the map. No big deal just know your way from the main street. A small restaurant full of German... flavors. The beer list is smaller than most but it covers the spectrum in tap or bottle from Kolsch to dunkels. The same goesfor the menu. Not huge but represents what would be considered a German menu. Wurst Schnitzel, Sauerbraten chicken, trout andburgers. We drove up from Louisville and will be back. Read more

I wanted to try the new beer selections at Schwäitzer. heard they had a few new beers on tap and bottles. Took my daughter on... Sat April 9th ( If you don't go for the food, the beer is pretty good).We decided to eat dinner, shared a platter of fries thathad some type of curry sauce. Wasn't sure I would like the flavor, but it was pretty good. Ordered the Chef trout (heard it wasgood)with braised carrots and roasted brussels sprouts. I've got to say, it was pretty good. The fish was not fishy tasting hada good flavor, the carrots and brussels sprouts cooked just right and full of flavor.. I tried a few of the new beers and foundthat I really liked the Dragons Milk... a dark beer with lots of flavor.. Found completely by random. Great atmosphere. Great lunch prices. Great service. Wurst (Knackwurst) was the best I've had. Never... had one with that much flavor. That alone would make me go back. Now I get knit-picky because we frequent a lot of Germanrestaurants. We had the lunch menu which was small. But nice selection of options. We had the Spatzel with swiss cheese. It wasreally good but greasy at the bottom of the container. We also got the kids Schnitzel tenders. They were good. Wish they hadhomade chips instead of bags. Or wish they offered a homade side. That would have bumped it up another notch for me. Serviceagain was very good. Will go back for dinner next time to see an expanded menu. I would definitely recommend. Read more
Amazing food!! We had a large portion of the menu and everything was delicious. The dopplebach on tap was delicious. This place... just opened and I wouldn't expect it to stay hidden long. Definitely get the potato soup and get a plate of fries with the beercheese to share on the table. Read more
I don't have much experience with German food, but the four of us decided to give it a try. We were all very pleased with our... meals. The food was fantastic and the staff was awesome.
