My wife and I tried Oishi for lunch, today - the first time we'd been there. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good prices and... absolutely delicious food. We had two lunch entrees, two sushi rolls and two soft drinks. The total bill was only $40.Everything was extremely tasty; they might have the best crab rangoon in the city. Oishi is without a doubt the best sushi restaurant in the KC Metro area. I go here regularly with my partner, I take anyone... who likes sushi here. Sometimes when I feel like being alone, I come here by myself to relax, drink some warm sake, and watchsports at the bar.  In this way, it's a great place for any situation. The quality of the sushi here is high, but the pricesare not as high as you would expect. Very middle of the road, if not a little on the expensive side, but it's really goodoverall. If you were to go to a sushi place in the plaza, you're easily paying 3 times as much for a product that is half thequality. If you live in the city, make the trip out to the suburbs. This will be the best strip mall sushi experience of yourlife. I'm a big fan of sashimi and sushi, but their rolls are good too. If you're taking a date here, I recommend the Sushi andSashimi for Two. You get a bit of everything (soup, salad, sushi, sashimi, 2 rolls) for like $70. It's a steal. Thanks to thestaff at Oishi! I've heard great things about this place, and Oishi Sushi didn't disappoint. It's full of surprises and tasty goodness. Of... course, happy hour is the best hour, especially when it comes in the form of sushi. Their happy hour menu includes a decentamount of food and drink options. But, most importantly, it makes everything quite the bargain. If you're new to thissushi/restaurant, the Oishi Roll and gyoza are good places to start! Both meats/proteins tasted fresh and were not aggressivelyseasoned. Otherwise, the menu has a variety of traditional and specialty rolls, sushi boats, standard appetizers, and varioushibachi and Japanese favorites. The atmosphere is ideal for a peaceful meal for two or a low-stress company together. What a Great place to eat and have adult beverages! The waitress was very nice and let us know if we had any questions she was... there to explain ???? the hibachi steak & shrimp was Amazing the brown sauce was soooooo good and I know this sounds crazy butthe steamed rice was the best I have had, I even had to get some to GO! I was craving a sushi sashimi platter and this place popped up on my google search. I went on for lunch and was blown away by... their platters. We got an amazing assortment of different fish, think salmon, yellowtail, ahi tuna and white fish and it wasincredibly fresh, beautifully prepped and sliced, and generous portions. The platter we chose came with the spicy tuna roll andtheir eel and avocado roll, and I happened to enjoy the freshness of the latter more. The boat display was really cute as well.We also enjoyed the crab rangoons, great flavour all around. A nice little sushi restaurant in Shawnee. Experience with the staff have always been positive and they are very friendly. The... sushi is not bad, and have not experienced any bad rolls or sashimi yet. And they provide very generous cuts for their sashimi.With COVID, we have been ordering more through Doordash. If you are planning to pick up, I would highly recommend calling themand placing your order instead of the app. There is a an additional charge associated with Doordash and the prices are slightlyhigher due to that charge. But check this place out if you're in the area, it's definitely well worth it when you're in the moodfor some sushi. Read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Great deals on lunch specials and we got so much food for what we paid. We got the ichiban udon... and lunch special 3 rolls with calamari as an appetizer. Very good! Read more
