No frills diner with lovely service and delicious food!
It feels like a mom and pop shop that is definitely worth the trip if you?re in town. You can watch them cook your food before... your eyes. They do tend to make their food in large batches but servers are very personable and while the food might be a greasyit is very good! And the prices are even better. I?ve been in the Shawnee area for almost 10yrs and I?ve been missing out. The food here is great fresh cooked and not frozen... ingredients the pancakes are the best I?ve had. It was also super clean, even the lights didn?t have dust like most places andthe waitress let the sanitizer sit on the tables to actually work on. We will definitely be back! Read more
First time to eat here. Good hash browns, actually browned and crispy like they're supposed to be; fried eggs were cooked... perfectly, good corned beef hash, bacon was extra tasty; my daughter got waffles that looked good (came with two, and hersister, who had ordered something else, had to steal one because they looked so good). The homemade bread is thick and sweetlike Hawaiian bread. Biscuits and gravy were okay. Our wait person Nicole was very prompt and attentive. Five stars for her. Read more
Here?s a place that will remind you of your momma?s stove hot early in the morning cooking breakfast for everyone. I have been... coming here for years and the staff is the remember me even if I haven?t been in for a while. The coffee is perfect atmosphereis awesome and the staff and food are top grade. I truly can?t say enough great things about this home away from home best thingabout visiting here is the personal attention and personable waiter that I personally guarantee will make you feel welcome. This place on Saturday morning was super busy. I ordered the omelette with Jack cheese and jalapeños, hash browns, biscuits and... gravy. The omelette was pretty dry and the eggs were overcooked for my liking. The hash browns had been cooked in old or rancidoil, so they did not taste good at all. I mean, I only ate a few bites of them and usually I clean my plate. The saving grace ofthe meal were their biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were soft and fluffy and almost melted in your mouth. I hardly noticed thegravy in the shadow of the biscuits, but the gravy was just fine. I'd definitely go back for the biscuits, but I'd have torethink what else I would order. Read more
Edited post: Second visit did not go so well at all. Food was okay. My potatoes were a little burnt, but still edible. Steak... was cooked correctly. The coffee was great. But the problems started when I was eating my biscuits and gravy. I found two shardsof what looks to be glass, in my gravy after I had already eaten over half of them. My good experience ended right there. I toldmy waitress and she asked me if I wanted them to remake them. I said no. And that was the end of any service that I got for theentirety of my visit, period! Even when I checked out, no discount offered at all for the issue which still isn't the problemeither. They didn't even ask me at the register if my food was okay or anything. She gave me a total and I paid. No "thank you", no "have a great day", NOTHING!! Homemade bread for French toast or regular toast is HIGHLY recommended. ???? They also use freshly ground beans for their coffee... and so it's very good. Their biscuits are also really good. Everything I've had has been good. All I have to say is get thereearly, because it stays packed out on weekends and it's obvious why. Read more
