I could not believe that the Deluxe Diner was still open! I went there all the time 30 yrs ago. They changed hands, of course,... but the food is awsome. My husband has this thing about trying S.O.S. everywhere we go to eat. Their SOS had a lot more chippedsteak than most other places. Everything we had was great, the service too. I worked in food service for many years and always give the benefit of the doubt. Tonight was the first time I ever made the... decision never to return to an establishment. The diner closes at 8:00. My husband, daughter and I walked in at about 7:20. No one acknowledged us (they knew we were there). The elderly woman at the register wouldn?t look up. Finally, a gentleman whoI believe was busing tables, motioned for us to take a seat. The waitress was okay to us, but throughout the rest of the time,the female employees complained, one made a phone call, saying to the other person, ?don?t come for a while, I still have threetables and side work?. The old lady was making jokes about how she has a life and wants to go home, making comments aboutphysically throwing the rest of the customers out. I wish I was joking, but they actually behaved this way (also bad mouthedother employees, the waitress mentioned wishing she had a bus boy that actually did something). Unequivocally the leastprofessional staff I?ve ever come across?and I used to work with mostly teenagers, they behaved better than this. Read more
Food was great. Service could have been better. Heavy set blonde waitress took 15 minutes to come to our table to take our order... after we were seated. Didn't come to the table during our breakfast to ask if everything was OK or if we wanted more coffee.Waited another 10 minutes when we were finished for the check. This was the first and last time we will eat here. My husband is not a picky eater at all, and he took a couple bites of his... food and left it sit. Decided to take my daughter to breakfast. The waitress was awesome and super friendly. I believe her name was LaTesha. Decided... to pay it forward and give her a 150% tip over bill. Your typical dinner. Good food good prices and very friendly staff. Their pies are great!
