My husband and I love getting food here occasionally. For a small bar off of King st, the food is absolutely shockingly good. I... feel like unlike a lot of other places in town, this establishment isn?t afraid to experiment with food and try new thingseither. I love trying different items on their menu. My husband says their beers are great to (I don?t drink). We?ve also beenhere to see a friends band play a few times. They absolutely make everything work with the space they have. It?s really cozyinside. The staff has always been extremely accommodating, friendly and attentive. They have definitely have gone above andbeyond in terms of customer service. Read more

If you're looking for an authentic location to visit when in Shippensburg, give Maxie's a shot. You will not regret it. Update... 10/21/22:. Just went back again tonight. This place is the Gem of Shippensburg! Walked in the door and was greeted as soon as wewalked in. We sat right down at the bar and the bartender (Jackson) recommended two beers and food for my wife and I. Thewaitress (Libby) we had before remembered us and said hello right away. I couldn't believe she remembered us from two weeksago. We ordered some food (the philly cheese steak egg rolls and the chicken tacos). I was kind of questioning what the food ata craft bar could have, but I was so surprised! The flavors were on point, and the portion sizes were perfect! We had someleftovers to bring home. The Manager, Austin, was very attentive. He kept the whole place running smoothly. He also gave us arundown of the whole history of the location. Overall, I love this place, and I can't wait to go back! ----------+- Servicefantastic! Beer amazing! Live music made our night. This is going to be our new hangout spot. Maxie if they haven't reached outyet, give Tammy and Randy Karstetter a shot as well for music. Read more

Second time back and it's even better than the first! Beers for every taste--even the most refined--fantastic food (I'd die for... those chicken tacos), and a friendly and cozy atmosphere that's reminiscent of Cheers. The staff makes you feel like family. Ican't wait to go back! Read more

Visited on a day we were riding the CV trail, 3 people, sat outside, plenty of seating. Stacy cared for us, she was great, very... attentive, had great recommendations, one of the better waitresses in a long time. Food was interesting, and tasty, tried thecheese steak egg-rolls, fajitas. Had some of the in house brewn seltzers and beers, they were ok. Impressed w razorbock andraider red. Def would stop by there again. Read more

The food and overall atmosphere were both excellent, and the live band that was performing played a good variety of recognizable... songs. However, the service could have been better. It took a very long time for our drinks to be served, and all the checkswere mixed up. Read more

5 friends and I met there to specifically see the singer on Saturday night. Having never been there we had hoped for a really... good time. Unfortunately that didn?t happen ! We started out ordering the Flight.( 4 samples of beers). 3 of us ordereddifferent beers and only 2 different orders came, staff repeated one order. Knowing now everyone will like them but 2 orderswere sent back because they were not drinkable! The food finally was ordered and came slowly! Waitress told us the breaded wingwere out so couldn?t get them. Out of 3 orders of wings 2 came back breaded! Supposed to have celery! None had celery! Had toask for napkins and silverware! Had to ask for our 2nd order of drinks and waitress said it was the bartender and not her issueeven though she took the order and one was water! Not impressed at all with the staff and ask for sample before ordering a newbeer! Read more

I do like what they did with the place with the new ownership. It's much brighter and the added garage door windows is a great... plus. The parking is tight and street parking might be required, but that's free. We shared the pretzel bites which werefantastic. I had the Angus Bacon Sliders which were decent, but the burger seemed unseasoned. Also for the price of 3 slidersthat came with no sides ($12) Seemed on the expensive side. My wife had the Chicken tacos for $10. It came with 3 taco's whichseemed to be a more reasonable price, but there was hardly anything on the tacos. My wife ended up combining the three taco'sinto 1 shell, but they were very delicious. The beers were served in 12oz classes and were a little on the expensive side forthat size of glass. I totally get the price, but a large glass would be better to be more in line with other brewery's. I thinkI would give these guys a try again with hopes it was an off night or they improve. I do like the idea of the multiple brewersdoing their thing. Read more

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I have tried several of the beers, sofa king, Johnny U are my favorite. The light menu... is excellent some of my favorites are the short rib, breaded wings, flat bread, mozzarella sticks. The Philly cheesesteak rollsare my families absolute favorite. The place still has that old Maxies feel, there is an interesting view of back brewery fromthe dinning room. They also have a great area for outdoor seating. Read more
