Reviews for Smith Point County Park in Shirley, NY
My experience there is always good but I'm a person that does not like to be around many people so if you are like me the best... times to go there are early morning during the week and weekends. I cannot tell you about their bands that play there I think Iwent one time and it was nice but like I said I don't like to be around a lot of people if you don't want to pay go after 6:00p.m. during season time. One thing I could say this is the place to go for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I always can grab mybeach chair and find a secluded little area by myself which I'm very grateful that I can find. A nice local beach that is frequented by a lot of kids so be prepared. Loud music and crowded beach blankets. But there are... restrooms and concessions. Drinks and food from Tiki Joe's and live music here and there. Get a green key pass and $15 bucksturns into $9 to get in during the season between Memorial and Labor days. A great TWA flight 800 memorial walk through is thereas well. A must see! Read more
Smith Point County Park is a wonderful place to stay. The beach is breath taking and peaceful. The staff were great and helpful.... We even had one of the deer on the island come to our campsite. Read more

Make sure to get the air out of your tires. The sand is like sugar not wet and sticky. The sun is very strong so make sure to... use sunblock even in winter. No public bathroom. There is a kids playground at the very entry. We used crabs for bait and itworked pretty good. Read more
Beautiful beach with well-sized waves for having fun with the whole family. You can only swim in a restricted area but it was... large enough when we were there (Mon-Tue-Wed, beg. of August). Fine sand, fresh and clean water, some food offers (lobster rollis recommended!). We came after 5:30 p.m. when parking is for free (18$ during daytime) to enjoy the evening sunlight. Read more
