Fantastic place! The drinks are some of the best I have ever had. No need to go to the city, because the drinks here are... amazing. The owners stop by all the tables and spend time with the customers which we always enjoy. The food menu changesseasonally and it?s great. We have loved everything they have had. Do not miss out on their Sunday brunch. Well worth it! Read more

Another gem tucked away in a smaller suburban town. Wonderful, inventive cocktails. A small but delicious menu. The pesto... chicken sliders were fantastic. Great service, and the owner was onsite. A super nice person who regularly checked on patrons.Their interior is stylish and modern. Worth the drive. It's now on our list of regular places to visit Read more

Stopped in for cocktails after dinner. Intimate setting here. Our server was quick and offered good suggestions. We had the... Dirty Birdie and Gummy Bear martinis, which both were delicious. I also saw a bottle of Angel's Envy and asked what theyrecommended to make it into. They made it into one of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had. It was late, and the kitchen hadalready closed, but can't wait to come back to "nosh". Read more

We had the carnita nachos and the pulled pork panini, both were really good. We also had 4 drinks off the menu which were well... made. Great service with a wonderful atmosphere! Read more

Went in search of corn-beef and cabbage on St Patricks Day and so happy we found this place instead! Wow, when did shorewood... grow up! Great drinks and real martinis?charcuterie board was top notch and we shared the Rueben so we did get our corned beefat last. We will definitely be back. Read more

You are not in Kansas anymore. Not knowing what to expect, I decided to stop into Mauve to have a late afternoon cocktail. A... new bar in town, so let's support local. From the moment you open the door, you feel something is different. The staff greetsyou with a warm welcome and a smile. Everything floor to ceiling is elegant, and the inside of this inconspicuous space in asmall-town strip mall is dressed to the nines. At first glance, you see the bar lit up and simply beautiful. The back bar isfilled with quality, as they say at Mauve, "Libations." All this before you even sit down. I decided to sit at the bar and wasinstantly greeted with another warm smile, a freshwater decanter, and the menu. Mauve's menu is full of craft cocktails,high-quality spirits, and mouth-watering food choices. One of the crafted cocktails was an Old Fashion which I ordered. I havesome cocktail years under my belt, and I have to say that Old Fashion was spot on. The rest of the menu showed of not youraverage suburban spread. Spread meaning food, one-word WOW! Both Mauve Chefs have a long line of exceptional pedigree, and theyhave put together a fabulous revolving seasonal menu. The food items I ordered were like the cocktail outstanding. To sum Mauveup, it is an upscale Adult gathering place, not a typical townie bar. No loud TVs or 22-year-olds slugging Coors lights, norestless younger children (I love kids, but sometimes? you know ya just need a break). I have returned several times, and theexperience has nothing but grown on me. Give Mauve a try and treat yourself to luxury in rural Illinois at a small town cost. Ihave to say the Village of Shorewood hit it out of the park with this one. Read more
