Amelia was very friendly upon our arrival, and seated us quicky on their patio. It was quite windy that day so she offered us a... blanket. It was refreshing to have such a great interaction straight away as a lot of restaurants are lacking that nowadays. Itwas nice to see fresh flowers on the tables as well. We were there during happy hour, and really enjoyed our food and drinks.It's a great location overlooking Beacon Park and the water. Read more
Nice, bright spot with super views. Food quality was very good although 1 main was a tiny portion compared to the rest... (gnocchi-it was very rich (delicious) which might explain the portion) Servers were very nice and accomodated our need to bequick so that we could get to our concert. We have come here once last year and the service was absolutely terrible, however the food was good. We decided to try it again... today for my partners birthday hoping it was just a one time bad experience. I made reservations for lunch and the serviceagain, was so so bad. Different servers but same bad experience. It almost took 2 hours from sitting down to when we finally gotto leave. All we ordered was the calamari, and 1 order of fish and chips to share (both came out at the same time which was whatwe asked for) and 1 tiramisu. It took about 25 minutes alone just to get our dessert and then we had a long wait just to get ourbill. It wasn?t busy at all, so we were dumbfounded. Our server, even though we were waiting kept socializing with their coworkers and it just made for a horrible experience on my partners birthday. Our server was also very abrupt and we found thewhole experience with her very odd. I wouldn?t recommend this location if you have other plans for the day as we almost had tocancel an appointment due to the slow service. It made for a very stressful day/birthday. Read more
While this restaurant is connected to a landmark hotel in the downtown core of little Port Town Sidney BC as in Canada...I... would love to stay for life in a suite here as if my home, spend everyday enjoying the atmosphere of this localized fine dininglocation.. filled with West coast island favors fare and fun happy and hard working dedicated standards and upkeep. They aren'tattached. So stick to the conversation at hand, what can we get you. I went a week ago with a few friends. While the service was excellent, the food left a lot to be desired. My dish from the fresh... sheet - a handful of rice noodles drenched in curry sauce with 2 mussels, 2 clams, 2 shrimp. Way overpriced. Meanwhile friendacross from me had a huge bowl of 15 or more mussels. Same price! Friend beside me had an overpriced handful of spaghetti.Another had a green salad with frozen shrimp. Our experience was very mixed. I am giving the restaurant 3 stars because our food was very tasty. We did have an issue with one... item being cold but a replacement was brought out quickly. We dined in on a Saturday night and it was very busy and VERY noisy.This made conversation challenging and we ended up eating quickly and leaving. It was supposed to be a birthday celebration butit didn?t feel like that. As well the tables and chairs were crammed together so tightly that we couldn?t move our chairs and itwas actually difficult to get in and out of our seats. Lastly, I am hoping the young female servers truly get to voluntarilychoose their outfits. The dresses were tight, short and showed a lot of skin. I was surprised by this, as I didn?t think it wasnecessary for the upscale farm to table style the restaurant was trying to present. Overall, I don?t think I would dine here ona weekend because the aforementioned detractors and high cost of the food outweighed its taste. I would like to be able tolinger. We went for a birthday celebration tonight, and could not have been more impressed with the experience! From the initial front... desk greeting to our amazing meal (gnocchi, seafood linguine and an awesome Caesar salad) it was all so good. Keep up the goodwork folks - we?ll be back very soon! Read more
