We loved the aesthetic and the different wine selections. It certainly is an urban location, but very unique for the area (bonus... point in our book). The staff was also extremely kind and welcoming. We enjoyed a few flights and the pita/tzatziki appetizerand are looking forward to our next visit. Read more

I finally made my way to the Urban Winery on Stewart Ave. Silver Springs , MD. I had met the winemaker Georgia and her husband... Damon Callis at a farmers market. So while traveling to view the beautiful leaves between spots I decided to stop in. It was agreat experience for my friends and I . They have wonderful wines and are so excited to share their knowledge with you. Theyhave a great staff and in particular Zoe. She has quite a history in the industry and sounds like the perfect bartender as well. They will begin to serve a limited mix drink menu soon. They sell a great selection of beers on tap in case one of your friendsis not a wine drinker. I forget to mention the tapas or mezes -this place has the Greek /Mediterranean flare so you feel likeyou are being transported to a little Aegean island in Greece when you sit out on the patio. Inside it has all been designed bythis couple and their three young children. The bar is handmade, the barrel chandeliers are whimsical. Great feel and vibe tothis place. I could forget all my troubles and chill here. We happened to be there when a gentleman had set up a surprise 40thbirthday party for his wife. Her friends had evidently been a part of the secret and arrived prior to the guest of honor. Wowwhat a charcuterie tray and warm tapas they brought out. So the husband left and the guests were left to learn how to makewine..Damon gave a wine making class, they then will wait for it to be ready, design their own labels and have their own winegifts. What a great idea. I hail from CT and NC so this was quite a treat. What a great place to sit quietly and read a book, visit with a friend or have a small or large event. The place is great. What a chance to learn about wine making while enjoyingthe fruit of the vine. Will definitely return. Thanks for the great experience. Read more

Large selection of wine, most unusual grape wine combinations, none of my 3 tastings were to my liking. Certainly an Urban... location, not hard to find but Urban. Inside of winery will be ready by fall we were told. Large canopy table tents keep thearea cool in a parking lot setting. Maybe instead of 30 wines, better perfect 10. Read more
