Just moved into the campground across the street and after seeing the wonderful reviews, I wandered over to check Kern's out for... myself. People & Places like this are why I love being out in the country. I was warmly greeted at the door and as soon asthey found out I was a new local, they flooded me with useful info about my new surroundings, including a printed guide to localbusiness and services - wow! They introduced me to every local that walked in the door - every single person was friendly &welcoming. The food selection was impressive and full of variety and I can't wait to try some of those dishes on a futurevisit. For my inaugural Kern's meal, I went the safe route: Bacon Burger & Fries. A half pound of fresh ground beef, cookedperfectly, with ALL the fresh fixings. Best burger i've had in a long time! Bottom line: Whether you're camping in the area,passing thru Silver Springs on the way to somewhere else, or live nearby - grab a meal at Kern's! P.S. Be sure to grab a tableby the windows (or outside) if you can. The lake view is spectacular. Read more
The food came out faster than I could ever imagine and it?s even better than I could ever imagine! The server was so lovely and... attentive. This is one of the best places to sit and have breakfast alone and read a book. A perfect ending to my stay here. OHALSO there are sturdy paper straws which I appreciate because it shows they also care about the environment along with theircustomers. Lovely experience. Read more
The food here is amazing! The service is outstanding and the chef was phenomenal. Debbie our server treated us like family... even though it was our first time there. The chef Joe made me a meal not even on the menu. The specials are fun and tasty. This place is a must try. It is my new go to spot. Thank you Debbie and Joe for such a great experience. Read more
This restaurant is the best around. They just did a Thanksgiving Dinner today for those who had no place to go, which I feel was... very gracious of them. They never cheat you on food that's for sure ( expect a to-go box.) If your leave hungry, then youdidn't eat. Their specials are always good. I've been there several times and have never had a complaint. Let's not forget theWish Tree they have for the community children during this time of the year.
