Where do I begin? We have been going to Metro Bis since the book "Wife of a Chef". This location is absolutely the best in... the Valley if you want great service and a menu that offers so many delicious choices for the hard to please, this is the place. Private rooms for parties/ meetings large and small that are beautiful not cold and sterile looking and feeling. If you haveout of town guests that want a place to stay and not at the Simsbury Inn or Residence Inn, this is the place. We had thebrussel sprouts for an app, Maryland crab cake and short ribs for our dinners, dark chocolate and the coconut dessert that whenI return I'll order that for my app and dessert. Metro Bis is an Excellent Venue!! The food was some of the best I have ever had. I play a lot of venues and review very few,... however this place is top notch! Staff is incredibly friendly with outstanding service. The banquet manager Courtney was apleasure to work with. One of the best weddings I've been to so far. Quite the tucked away gem in the heart of Simsbury! The entrance porch is pure old world charm. Cute patio and the various... dining areas inside are beautifully done. The servers are very attentive but hardly seen. Pricey, but their recipes aredelectable! The food combinations were very creative! We came for a special Mother's Day lunch . The restaurant is beautiful with classic and elegant decor. The menu was prefix and... we liked the choices available. My daughter really enjoyed the coq au vin! We picked the right restaurant for this special timetogether. Read more
We had our wedding here this weekend and we could not have picked a more perfect place. Courtney was absolutely amazing to work... with. She was very attentive and accommodating. Delicious food, friendly staff in a beautiful setting. What more could you ask for? Definitely try the bread with hummus,... eggplant and olive oil for dipping. Alex D was my waiter and he was pleasant and knowledgeable. He was super friendly and alwaysat the ready with a suggestion when asked. The lunch menu is a 3 course prix fixe, with additional "sharables" options(around$10) I chose the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the flat iron steak and tried the blueberry cake with landmass creamfor dessert. Everything was outstanding, and there was more than enough food for me! There were the perfect "little touches"everywhere, like fresh flowers in the bathroom. I came here for dinner with my husband and another couple for the pre-fix dinner after hearing that they had a good tasting... menu. We got a reservation for 6pm on a Wednesday and were able to find the place no problem. The vibe and feel of the place isvery fun and different with books and interesting decor all around the dining room. The wait staff were also all kind and quickto chat with you. The menu was $60 and there were a decent amount of options for each course. There were also a few sharableitems for an extra $10 you could get for the table. I got the acorn squash, hanger steak, and chocolate ganache for my meal andthe table shared the truffle fries. The food was good, I wouldn't say anything blew me away, but all tasty. I will say that Ifound the portions to be very small for the price point. My appetizer of the acorn squash was particularly disappointing when Ihad 2 small slices of squash. My husband's short ribs had the smallest bit of meat. My hanger steak could also have used somemore sides and I feel bread for the table should have been provided, rather than offering it for an extra $10. Overall it was agood meal, wait staff friendly, but a bit pricey for what you got. I'd keep that in mind if you chose to stop in. Read more
