Excellent every time. Not a place for a large group, as it is a small place. Dinner for 4 is perfect, as is BYOB. Wrote the... first review 6 years ago. Have continued going throughout the years. Just went back in August of 2020. So nice to see that ithas survived the closures so far. Food has maintained a high quality. Even though the waiter did not show up for work, the cooktook care of us wonderfully. Glad to support local and small businesses!!! Read more
Small gem in downtown Skokie. The food is great! Not many options for vegans though. My omnivore friends and family love the... mole dishes. I love many of their appetizers and the mango salad. Decoration are great! Don't be in a rush and expect slowerservice when only one staff is host, server and cook. It's BYOB. Read more
Food was excellent! Only downside is cash only. If it weren't for that 5?. I don't even mind the BYOB.
Holy molé! This place is amazing! Camarones ixtapa, chicken montezuma and enchiladas. I've never had molé more authentic... outside my mom's kitchen. We will definitely be going back soon. Read more
This is a quaint, authentic, byob restaurant. Every dish is fabulous and the service is phenomenal - even with a group of kids... they were super patient with us. However, if you are looking for the typical American version of Mexican food which most localplaces are, this is not the place for you. This is a small, family-run restaurant serving authentic, gourmet cuisine. All 8adult in our party highly recommend it! Read more
The service and atmosphere were great, and fit the higher prices. We were really excited to come back with friends and family,... until we ate the food. The food was enjoyable, but not amazing. They seem to be relying on the sauce for most of the flavor,which leaves everything feeling very one dimensional. You can find better for the price or cheaper depending on your mood. Excellent gourmet Mexican food in the downtown area of Skokie that just happens to be BYOB. The decor is interesting, the staff... very friendly and the food definitely delicious. Make sure to try something from each category on the menu, or have a starterif you are not that hungry--since the portions are generous and have very tasty combinations of ingredients. One of the best meals I have had in my life. Oscar is truly gifted and makes amazing food. The chicken enchilada with the mole... sauce was spectacular. Everything is fresh and made to order. Prices are so reasonable that I felt guilty eating all this greatfood for such a low cost. It?s byob. Chocolate flan was to die for. I will definitely be back. Keep this hidden gem inbusiness!!
