Wow! I?ve never had a bad meal or experience there and went there for years but tonight my cod was cold, the waitress was... questionable, my to go order of what used to be a bowl of pinto bean soup with corn bread is now not even a half filled tiny togo container and considered a side item. I went to order blackberry cobbler and the waitress never even offered us desert andgave us our bill. I asked for the cobbler to be added and she said they were all out and never offered anything in its place.The girl standing at what used to be the register barked ?you pay at the table?. Quirky & quaint country style home cooking. I was so excited to see fried cornbread on the menu, but really disappointed when... they came out looking like overly large potato chips. Needed a bit more 'bread' in my opinion. They were still tasty. Grabbedthe special beef liver & onions with REAL mashed potatoes. It was delightful. Hubs had the country fried steak & a bakedpotato. Our overall group had food that was on the lukewarm side, and service was a smidgen less than spectacular (adequate) Ourfriends had the peach cobbler with ice cream they declared to be amazing. Oh my goodness! Finally made it there, took me more than 10 years. The BEST fried green tomatoes I've had in a long time! Our... waitress Analise was wonderful. She put up with, and gave right back, to our crazy bunch. Everyone was well fed with good foodand served with kindness. Thank you SO much for a wonderful KY treasure in the middle of nowhere. We have eaten at Our Best many times and always enjoy. Food, atmosphere and service is always great. However, I was dissapointed... in my meal yesterday (Sunday). I ordered a fried pork chop that was extremely dry and hard. Had a nice flavor but I only managedto eat less than half. The sides and cornbread were great. Read more
Family run for over 30 years, and they do it right. Out in the middle of nowhere, but well worth the drive. Fried chicken is a... specialty. Wife said it was great. I had the country fried steak, it was great too. Several things on the menu that I want totry, so I will be back. Read more
Was told about this place by a customer of ours. To be honest after looking it up on maps I never thought I would be in the... area to give it a try. However after a night in Cincinnati for a concert, we found ourselves close enough to go out of our wayfor this place. We are glad we did! Service, Atmosphere, and the Food was excellent. We enjoyed the meatloaf fried chickenand the pork tenderloin. If your close by give this place a try! The lemon ???? pie was best I have ever had!! Read more
