I just went to this outback in Smithfield with wife and Daughter. Signed up for waiting list before we got there. Got seated... pretty fast however we were put in a booth but the booths in this restaurant have limited space and I'm a big guy and have othermedical reason where it's nit comfortable so wife asked for a table. We were put at a table at 8pm. I shoukd have known by thecondition of the menus it was not going to be a good experience. So we sit and see 2 or 3 wait staff working surrounding ourtable. No one takes our drink orders or even speaks to us. We were passed several times. And wanted to watch the hurricanesplayoff game but it surprisingly was not on any of the tvs over the bar. They were on some Hispanic channel, some other show and a colledge basketball game. I was going to ask one of them to be turned to the game. No one at the bar was watching justthe bartender, LOL. However No one ever spoke to us. My said let's go somewhere else. I originally said nonlets wait since Ihad my mind set on a blooming onion and a steak and potato. Well at 8:20pm and one of yhe servers making eye contact severaltimes and looking away, I couldn't wait no more. Insaid ok let's go. The young lady who seated us as we were leaving was likehave a nice night, I informed her, it's been 20 minutes and no one has even spoke to us. I am speechless! Today is my husband's Birthday and we had the best dinner and excellent service. Once we were seated, our... waitress Nina was on top of it! She made sure we were well taken care of. My son said his Outback Burger was amazing. Me andmy husband's prime rib was absolutely delicious. The manger heard it was my husband's birthday and took pictures of us and thestaff made him a card. It was a very nice dinner and we are greatful for the service we recieved tonight! THANK YOU! Sidenote: half the dining area is closed. Pretty sure due to staffing but how they manage their shortage did not impact the levelof service provided. We did not have to wait the whole anticipated time to get a table, our waitress never forgot us andchecked on us regularly, our food was to our table quickly, and the manager was constantly helping her staff and checking on thecustomers. I don't remember the last time I ate at an Outback Steakhouse, but I will 100% be returning. I ordered a ribeye with coconut... shrimp and they came out perfect. The shrimp was crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth. I was mostly impressed with thesteak. Im from Texas and I like my steak rare, or as we say "still mooing". Most steakhouses, even upscale, will always make mysteak medium rare. The steak here was a perfect blue rare and was absolutely delicious. The baked potato and mac and cheese alsodidn't disappoint. I dined here on Monday 09/26/2022. My first Outback visit since 2020 and I visited the best one. My waitress said it was her... first day and I'm not sure if her name was Lisa, or Elisa but she was wonderful. She brought me the menu with the specials and Iordered a Steak & Mate combo. So delicious with the 6oz Sirloin and Bloomin' Fried Shrimp and 2 sides for $16.99, it's a greatmeal deal. The meal and great service put me over the moon!! Read more
