Beyond disappointed, and I will not patronize this chain again. Around three-ish I attempted to order online for pickup which... was not available for through the rest of the afternoon and evening. Unfortunately I did not review the menu online as I findsometimes it doesn't give accurate information on quantities, etc. I presume this may be based on the demand in different areas.Apparently if you purchase Chicken only you pay the same price as if you ordered Hush Puppies with it. I went inside to place anorder. I explained to the cashier that I am not from the area, never been to a Smithfield's Chicken & BBQ before and wanted toorder chicken only, no sides. Mid-order the cashiers were swapped out. Apparently it was necessary for her to relocate to thedrive-thru before completing the order with me. I ordered 8 pieces of Chicken and received the Chicken and a huge bag of HushPuppies. I went back to the counter to inquire why I had them and explained I wasn't aware I was getting Hush Puppies. I thenasked to swap them out for fries. (My partner seems uncomfortable when I "speak up" about something not to my standards orliking.) I do not care for Hush Puppies and no one with me is going to eat them. The woman I spoke with graciously swapped themfor a huge bag of French Fries. I called back to the location asking the cost of 8 pieces of Chicken ONLY, NO SIDES and wasadvised "$17.99 plus tax because all Chicken comes with Hush Puppies." Not sure why NO ONE communicated this to me while I wasinside Smithfield's Chicken speaking with humans. NO ONE SAID THISE EXACT WORDS. Clearly no meeting of the minds here. Takeaway- if you want Chicken without any sides this is not your place. That said, the dining area has an open layout and the locationwas clean. I liked the signage for drive-thru. Love their combo plate and chicken tenders. Such friendly service at this location. We stopped here to visiting friends for... lunch and once they heard we were from NY they brought us out out a hat to take home! Really great location. Read more

Did not like at all and threw my sandwich away, I?m used to finely chopped Barbecue with a particular type of coleslaw. This... sandwich had hard large chucks of coleslaw and just was not to my liking, however restaurant was clean and many people dining.Friendly staff and very welcoming. Extremely busy, only one table empty, only one employee for entire dining room.People lined up all the way to the door waiting... to order. Cars wrapped around the building outside. I?ve been eating at Smithfield?s for years and never had a complaint until tonight. I ordered a dark chicken plate with potato... salad and cole slaw. The potato salad was white when it normally has more yellow coloring. We were in town for a baseball tournament and stopped here late one night after our games. Elaine was the bomb! She was working... the register, serving the food and taking care of the dining room by herself. She made sure everyone had FRESH food and drinkswere topped off. She is amazing!
