To summarize my review for those too lazy to read the whole thing, the food was very average at best and the management and... owners were very rude to my wife and I. My wife and I booked Under the Oak Catering for a wedding that we had this yearbasically a year and a half in advance. We booked them to provide food, (pasta, appetizers, and a burger bar)silverware/plates, and the owner's wife was supposed to be making our wedding cake as well. About six months after we bookedthem, my wife saw on Facebook from another bride in a Facebook group that the owner's wife had stopped doing cakes so we calledand asked if this was true and they said yes they do not serve cakes anymore. They did not give us any warnings or reach out totell us that she had quit making cakes, we just totally lucked out because my wife had seen the Facebook post as we came veryclose to not having a cake. Fast forward to one month before our wedding. A manager from Under the Oak meets with my wife andI via a phone call for our one month check in. He informs us that his contract ran out with the silverware company and theywill not be providing silverware or plates anymore. We told him that he was breaching his contract and he said "I have no wayto get you plates and silverware so I do not know what you want me to do." Under the Oak did eventually end up providing platesand silverware but they left me and my wife panicking for over a week about whether or not we would have plates or not. Inaddition to this silverware issue, we were told that cake plates were part of the package by the employee who booked us. Ourcontract says that all plates and silverware would be provided but it did not specify cake plates so the owner has claimed thatnot bringing cake plates did not technically breach our contract but Under the Oak is, at best, very shady in how they wordtheir contracts. The amount of compliments we have received over how delicious our wedding food was is insane! Our guests are still raving about... it! Everything was so well done and delicious, I have never had wedding food that has stuck with me when the wedding ends, butwith Under the Oak it has. The tomato tart is all people are talking about haha. I loved this company, very easy to work withand so helpful in the planning process, I will forever recommend them! Read more
Best Caterer hands down! Love that they are farm to table. Easy to work with and professional. We had so many compliments on the... food for our daughter's wedding. We had close to 200 people and everything went so smoothly and they even did our open bar witha specialty drink! Service was spot on at all stages of the event. Under the Oak was amazing!! We were recommended to them from our venue and decided to schedule a tasting. The tasting was so... well done and the staff was professional and we immediately loved the food. Lara was very helpful and came to rentalappointments to make sure we had everything covered. Under the Oak not only met but far exceeded our expectations for our wedding caterer. From start to finish, they were... responsive, professional, kind, and so very accommodating. I have several food allergies, and they were able to make me/similarguests special dishes so that we could still enjoy most all the food. There was one thing we knew for sure about vendors for our wedding day, that was our caterer: Under the Oak Catering. Since my... husband had worked with Blake in the past, he knew that they were the only people he could trust to cater his wedding. We lovedtheir dedication to local and sustainable ingredients, and they were more than happy to work with our family style menu. Fromthe perfect cocktail hour with grand charcuterie display and passed appetizers, to the salads, and finally the entrees andsides, everything tasted delectable. To this day we are told it is the best wedding food our guests have ever had and they askhow they can get more of it. Daniel was in charge of running everything for our wedding and I can not say enough how amazing he was. He and his team were so... professional. Daniel even went the extra mile to help us bustle my wedding dress when we were struggling. I am so lucky andthankful that he was in charge that day. The food was also delicious!
