I do not recommend! The cottages are not well taken care of and extremely dirty. Bugs are in the cottages everywhere! If you... like camping this may be the place for you but otherwise I would avoid here. The best thing was the beautiful view of the waterbut unfortunately the stairs for beach access is no longer there. Read more

I had asked for a quiet spot. We were put next to kids slamming the door. There were toys left under the bed from other... guests, the window was cracked, the paint was peeling on the ceiling, the toilet flush had broken piece out of it, felt like wewere run over by a truck the bed is uncomfortable. It was ok... We won't be back. The view and the lounge is the only thing weenjoyed! The staff at the Pub were EXCELLENT!! Please pass this along. The manager we talked about the internet, she saidthey never had a problem. I find that hard to believe. I had to move to the bedroom to get on line. Staff didn't seem likethey cared to work there but the pub. Should have listened to reviews. Read more

Our family reunion ( 60 people attended) was held this weekend at MGV. It was great service from check- in to check- out! They... prepared a buffet BBQ for us all on Saturday night, and it was delicious- everyone enjoyed it! I would recommend this propertyfor someone looking for the perfect place for a reunion. The sprawling, beautifully maintained grounds were perfect for the kidsto roam around safely, the pool was a big hit, and we all felt so comfortable ! Val and her staff were so accommodating to ourlarge group- we couldn?t have asked for anything better!! Thanks again for helping our reunion become a huge success! Read more

I absolutely loved my stay at the mountain gap resort. I loved my sweet little cottage overlooking the ocean. It?s a little... difficult to cook as kitchenettes are old , bar fridge has no door on the freezer so things like my eggs froze ,but honestly whowants to cook while on vacation? They are also pet friendly and my tiny dog was even allowed on the patio while I was eating!!The pool was heaven as well with lots of comfy pool chairs. Some in the sun. Some in a beautiful flowered shaded area. Employeeswere super nice. Shout out to the young girl working in the restaurant. She was extremely friendly even when I arrived for food20 mins before closing! I have already spread the word on this lovely place and I will defiantly be returning. Read more

I think the Villages of Mountain Gap Resort is a best-kept secret of places to stay in Nova Scotia. The rooms are lovely, you... have an incredible view of ocean, it's a gorgeous venue for a wedding with a beautiful chapel, and the restaurant is delicious!Make sure you get up early to make some waffles for Breakfast! We stayed in the townhouse style cabins and they were great! Weenjoyed a really fantastic dinner there during our weekend stay! Photos attached* Go! Wake up and walk out to see the ocean!Enjoy food full-to-the-brim with local goodness, find small treasures on the beach and race the tide, toast marshmellows by thefire before bed, and fall asleep in the quaintest little cabin. We went to the mountain gap resort for our nieces wedding. The wedding was at the chapel on the premises. The carpet the bride... walks down was pretty dirty and was Apparently supposed to be cleaned the morning of the wedding but thankfully she had a whiterunner that went down the entire aisle so it worked out fine. The food at the reception and the reception hall was absolutelyamazing. Couldn't have asked for any better. The service was great as well at the reception. My brothers girlfriend got yelledat by the lady at the bar serving drinks because she went outside with her alcohol/beer which rule she was not made aware of.When we arrived we got our key for our cottage facing the water which was a gorgeous breathtaking view but I could not get intothe cottage #8. The one door would not unlock at all inside or out and the other doorknob kept twisting from the outside. Duringour stay once we were able to get into the cottage someone always had to open the door for us on the inside. Very annoying. Weslept 10 in this cottage. They were very nice to let us have 2 cots to sleep extra ppl and brought down extra towels when weasked. Unfortunately the fridge made a very loud noise and made it hard to stay asleep, the pull out couch was dirty withcheerios and had dirt inside the sheets but the other beds and cots were awesome and very comfy. It needs updating and it wasnot worth 330.00 a night. Wind coming in through the windows made it very chilly as well as we were there after Thanksgivingweekend. Read more

All in all - very good experience especially for the price you pay. The restaurant on site was amazing. Probably the best food... we ate during our entire visit ( we ate out a lot ). The view from our deck was wonderful and I would assume probably the bestof the places to watch the sunset in the cove. Very quiet even with the new renovations under construction. There were a fewminor details that left us wanting hence only leaving 4 stars: Our Microwave didn't turn, the chairs inside were a little manky(the bed was amazingly clean and comfortable however ) and our kitchenette could have used some additional cooking utensils, butwe ate out so much this didn't really bother us. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here! Read more
