Great Italian restaurant. Walked in and greeted by friendly owner and seated right away. Waiter was so nice and attentive. ... Delicious food, nice atmosphere. I just returned from a Family gathering of 8 (including a 3 year old and a 1 year old) at Sal's. The service was friendly and... very accommodating. Standout appetizers were calamari, stuffed zucchini blossoms and chicken wings. I had an excellentlyprepared rib eye with a brown mushroom sauce and topped with gorgonzola. My asparagus side dish with very thinly sliced garlicwas tender and flavorful. Everyone left happy and full and most of us had food to take home, as the portions are generous. Read more
Went as a last minute choice on a Saturday night. We had no reservations, but they seated right away. The staff was very... friendly and courteous. We shared a white pizza, they are famous for it. We followed that with a shared mesclun salad withcranberries, walnuts and gorgonzola. It was excellent. My wife had Rigatoni alla Vodka with grilled chicken. I had theCavitelli Spezzatino di Vitello. Pasta with veal, mushrooms, and peas in a brown sauce. I loved it. A chocolate velvet cakewith espresso was a great finish. I would highly recommend Sals if you're in the Commack , Smithtown area. Visited Sal's for a midweek family luncheon. Nice antipastos to share, including zucchini and sausage, calamari, and a platter.... Several choices for entree including salmon, chicken, pork, and pasta. The Mason Jar Bloody Marys were an interestingpresentation (mine with an orange garnish; my wife's with lemon), but they tasted great. Read more
