I supported the Red Claw when they ran the operation out of a food truck. Food was great then. My experience tonight going to... their brick and mortar location not so much. I was informed it requires a membership fee of $75 dollars. The lady who address medidn't even try to sell me one. Seating is limited so plan ahead. Personally there are other fine places to eat aroundSmithville and Bastrop that don't require membership. If that your thing, please go, and enjoy. Read more
Loved the food from the beginning, the service not so much. Decided to wait to return once they had opened their brick and... mortar restaurant. Made reservations a week early for our 40th anniversary dinner on Saturday. They texted me on Friday toconfirm, which I did. Got there Saturday and they were closed. No heads up, no notice, nothing!! Finally got a hold of theowner on FB the following day hoping for an explanation. He was angry and basically said I was ?an entitled asshole? and thenblocked me. Attempted to go to the restaurant at 4:15pm after waiting for 30 minutes to open and were completely ignored by the 2 people... inside the restaurant! Wouldn't open the door or give explanation or anything. I later made a post telling verbatim whathappened on Facebook and the moderator of the restaurant page blocked me! A simple apology would have sufficed but apparentlythey can not handle any kind of negative criticism even if it is completely warranted. First time here after hearing about it from neighbors in Bastrop. I'll be back. Marshal, the owner, was very welcoming, gave us... complimentary crab legs appetizer while we waited for our entrees. Sweetest crab I ever had. Terrence, the chef, really knowswhat he's doing. Photo is my Bayou Pasta; delicious and generous portion. Smithville and Bastrop County really need thisoutstanding eatery. First time visiting & we were impressed with the delicious & flavorful food, large portions, and the host's friendly service.... Everything was on point! The fries & shrimp boil were bomb. First visit and did not disappoint. Had the shrimp and fish with fries. Huge shrimp. Lovely cod fried perfectly.
