Hands down, best restaurant I?ve been to yet in Kent & New Castle counties! Atmosphere is gorgeously historic, when we walked in... the the aroma took me back to my great grandmother?s kitchen, bacon cooking and the wood stove burning ?? Now to the food?1stcourse was Bang Bang Shrimp which was perfectly crispy on the outside and delectable on the inside. Steamed shrimp seasonedperfectly. 2nd course, Tenderloin topped garden salad with HOMEMADE blue cheese dressing and lightly fried soft shell crab,again, perfectly cooked. 3rd course, 6oz & 9oz filet mignon superbly cooked medium rare with the best mashed potatoes I?ve everhad (sorry mom)! This is a cute little place to eat and spend time with family or family. In Downtown Smyrna there are many little restaurants... and this one has some character. There is a small gift shop in the front filled with candles, jewelry and keepsakes created bylocal artists I'm sure. The indoor dining area is large with booths and tables. The Outside where I sat was charming. The menuis not large, but everything was tasty especially the cheesesteak egg-rolls. This is such a hidden gem. The owner was waiting tables, cooking the food, managing the bar, answering the phone, all the while... delivering excellent food and customer service. Food was fast and delicious. Great prices. Definitely recommend!! She?s a wonderwoman !! Read more
This restaurant is in SMYRNA, DELAWARE. Lots of reviews are talking about food they don't serve. One said manager curses at... employees and pushed one down stairs. Lol. I am here visiting from Illinois and went here with my sister and niece for supper. From the minute we walked in we were... welcomed and made to feel at home. The Food was absolutely the best ever! I had the red snapper and it was so delicious! Wealso had the prime rib and fried chicken. As well as potato skins for an appetizer. Everything was top notch. We visited Our Thyme & Table for the first time to celebrate my birthday. It has a very welcoming ambiance and the staff is... super friendly. Everything on the menu looked scrumptious! But I settled for one of the specials of the day...Mile high meatloafand mashed potatoes! I decided to pick this meal because it is very difficult to find someone who can make good meatloaf. Ifigured this would be a good test of the chefs skills lol. Let me tell you...this was the absolute best meatloaf I have ever putin my mouth. Wonderful flavor, moist and juicy and topped with creamy homemade masked potatoes and gravy! The other guests inour party had the Chicken and Dumplings and Blackened Grouper and were equally happy with their meals. We were definitelyimpressed with everything about this place and will be back soon to try some of the other wonderful items on the menu. Homecooking at it's best. Shout out to our waitress KK! I was in the town of Smyrna on a week day around noon-ish. I wanted some lunch and decided on Our Thyme & Table. As I entered,... the staff was welcoming and friendly. As I viewed the menu, prices seemed reasonable. I ordered take out, steak and fries, andthere was reasonable wait time for my meal. Let me tell you now, the steak was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, friesgolden and crisp, steak served on a hero bread which was gently toasted and delicious as well!!
