Outstanding dinner at Riverview. My mother used to go here when she was a little girl and she says the food quality hasn't... changed. Had the fried shrimp, green beans, okra, slaw, and of course, hush puppies (some of the best we've ever had). Took achocolate pie home for good measure. Very friendly service as well. First visit. My catfish and blackened shrimp was DELICIOUS. My husband had fried oysters and shrimp his meal was also very... tasty. We will visit again ???? Oh, were quite full but had to try the chocolate and lemon meringue pies ????. We drove over 1hour it was worth the drive. Read more
What a great local restaurant. Well staffed. Super clean! I haven't seen a more "well organized" restaurant in years. They were... working so hard our 45 min way was only 15. The food....oh my. We had an ok meal.. it's not over the top for sure . The desserts are impressive to look at and the lemon meringue is good. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We had grilled salmon and shrimp. The grilled salmon was grilled to perfection with slightly... crunchy exterior and moist interior. Served with a basic baked potato and garden salad. The shrimp had a light tempura typebatter. The pie is delicious. Homemade crust and 2 inch tall meringue on the chocolate pie. Pies are homemade! Our waitress,Lisa, was great. All of the staff we encountered was very friendly. Only critique I have is a lack of outdoor seating. Theyhave a nice covered outdoor seating area for people waiting to be seated. We visited on a Wednesday around 6:30. We only hadto wait a few minutes for a table but the dining room was full. A local had recommended we try this place, and it certainly didn't disappoint! The place was busy, but we were seated relatively... fast. Our server was quite friendly. The wait for food was a bit long, but the final product was worth a little wait. I had softshell crabs that were very good. My mother had Mahi that she said was very tasty, but a little dry. Another person in my partyhad fried oysters (nice portion for a very reasonable price). He stated that they were awesome. My daughter had crab legs thatshe enjoyed (and I would second that as I collected a bit of crab meat for helping her crack the legs)! A lot bigger inside thanI thought from the outside. Riverview Cafe is Awesome! The food was amazing, the service and people were so friendly. We had the Stump Sound Oysters and... they were fresh and cooked perfectly! The fried oysters were just as good, cooked perfectly and tasted sooooo good! The shrimpwas fresh and tasted wonderful! Absolutely a must go! Oh and no words for how good the Key Lime Pie was!
