I really enjoyed my experience at la vela. We sat at the bar and the bartender was kind and attentive. The food was amazing and... I especially enjoyed the result of the day which was short rib. My old fashioned looked watered down by the color but I waswrong. It was wonderful, sweet with a bite. The one drink was strong and enough for me to feel it. I will be back and recommendit to others. Incredibly courteous and polite staff! With all of the selections, let's just say there is plenty to choose from. The location... is super convenient... Kudos to the all the staff/s. Absolutely great views of Back Creek and Zanhisers Marina. We willdefinitely return again and again and again! The only negative is parking, but I would still give more than 5 stars ifpossible. Pleasantly Surprised! Honestly, I have not found Italian food anywhere in this area besides Pizza and Italian Sandwiches &... pretty much gave up on it. This lil Contemporary hot spot serves up great meals and a fun filled spot on the water at Solomon'sIsland. Bartenders are excellent and engaging. I dined at the bar and Heidi was exceptional, great service and brought all ofher customers together in conversation, introductions and we had a ball. The grilled Octopus was unique, maybe not genuineItalian but delicious. Seafood Stew was much like I make at home, but always tastes better when someone else is cooking! Alldishes coming out looked fabulous, especially the Pasta - big, beautiful portions. An all around nice experience, nauticalItalian! Loved it! Read more
10/10 do recommend this restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious! Picture perfect. Our waitress Abi was fabulous. She was very... tentative, had outstanding customer service and was very polite. Was never left without drinks and she gave the bestrecommendations/suggestions. Only complaint was the fact a picture fell off the wall as our table was near the door to go insideand outside for the enclosed patio and nearly knocked the person at my table out. The picture was extremely heavy and by twoinches or less missed her head. I understand this was an accident and I?m aware that accidents happen. However, when the picturefell it was obviously a very loud noise as the picture was wooden and all the restaurant guests turned around as it caused aslight scene. The bartender just stood behind the bar with a shocked face. Moments passed and finally one of my people at mytable asked if anyone wanted the picture back? Finally I guess what was supposed to be a ?manager? comes over, takes the pictureand her exact words to the lady at my table who almost gets knocked out were ?You good??. Literally ?YOU GOOD?? Veryunprofessional. I couldn?t even tell you her name. Didn?t introduce herself or anything. Just takes the picture and says ?yougood?. Again I?m aware accidents happen but this ?manager? didn?t really seem to care and by her nonchalant reaction pretty muchtells me she didn?t. Again 10/10 recommend the place for the food, waitress and atmosphere but I strongly recommend some?manager? training to help ensure better professionalism. Read more
Really great food. We went for lunch and the portions were large. I can?t wait to go back to try more of the items on the menu.
