I would have loved to give a five star rating but this rating is a combination on food and the order taker. The Solon location... has changed my prospective on City Barbeque. I visited the Chagrin Blvd location once and was immediately turned OFF. The foodis phenomenal absolutely delicious and the brisket OMG; I think I've been here almost every day for a sandwich ????????. MyONLY issue was with establishing the points for money off. It's nearly impossible to get the points If you DON'T use the app. Ifyou don't mention to take your phone number when ordering the points are LOST because they DON'T ask for your phone number whenordering inside. I went on a Friday evening 7/8 ordered two sandwiches, sweet tea, 1small side and 1 large side. I was neverasked for my phone number to get my points. I went back 17hours later which was early afternoon Sat 7/9 and asked could mypoints be adjusted for my order taken the day before. I had the same meal taker and she says that it was too late to add them. Iasked her why did you not ask for my phone number when ordering she replied we're not TAUGHT to do that in TRAINING. In mydisappointment I still ordered another sandwich and large sweet tea and AGAIN the same order taker DIDN'T ask for my phonenumber; I had to ask her to take my phone number so I could get the points for my order. The food is a TEN but the ordertakers, the face one sees as they order REQUIRES / DEMANDS more efficient TRAINING to ensure customers return for the GREATFOOD and the opportunity to SAVE money ?????????????? This is my first time eating here since they opened, the interior was finished nicely. I had the brisket sandwich and the pulled... pork sandwich. I was not too crazy about the brisket but it was still an enjoyable sandwich. They really outshined on the pulledpork sandwich. I think they should and could have gotten away with a little bit more on the seasoning for the meats. That'swhere one of the stars are missing. The flavor was rather bland. Overall great selection and excellent cooking of the meats.Had the Mac and cheese side as well, it was a bit bland and over cooked. The baked beans brisket was a favorite too. Tried this place for lunch since I love bbq and it was new right by my work. Price is pretty high, but everything is right now.... Atmosphere is great, service is great?.but the most important thing isn?t, the food. Bland food, no smoke flavor whatsoever.Meat was very dry and had very little flavor. Got a side of cornbread which was probably the best thing I ate which wasn?t verygood either. I wanted it to be a good review but in my opinion this place is a no return. This was the first time I ate at City Barbeque. As soon as I stepped out of the car I could smell the wood smoke! It was very... clean inside and service was quick. I ordered the Chipotle sandwich. Very good, it was spicy and sweet. I ordered coleslaw for aside. It complimented the sandwich. Overall great first visit. Read more
We just stopped in for lunch and it was delicious! First of all the smoke emanating from the kitchen was mouthwatering. The... service was quick, easy and friendly. The food was amazing! 5 Stars before my first bite. After not being successful at online ordering, I decided to order in person. I arrived at 8pm... exactly, and was the last person to place an order which I was grateful they accepted. Stephanie was a very pleasant and kindperson as she helped me order of what was not sold out. The main door was locked and they could have refused to serve me. AfterAbout 3 mins wait time the manager Ms. Steph, was directing staff on closing duties, she asked them to assist with the customerorder. This is when 5 additional Stars are in order. Ms.Steph took it upon herself to make sure my order was completed andaccurate. I truly appt her personal care in making sure her customer was happy, even at the end of the work day she was smilingas were all other staff. Many acknowledged me and all were cheerful and kind. Refreshing in the day when customer service islacking. This crew all deserve a pat on the back. Thank you Ms.Stephi. You made me smile in more ways than one. BTW the food isreally good. The BBQ meats are tender and flavorful. I love their turkey tacos!! Juices from the meat, Cole slaw, and green sauce run down... your arm if you're not fast enough to catch them. The hush puppies are the perfect size for crunch in every bite. My daughterand I eat at the Solon Ohio location every time we are in the area. Read more
