Reviews for Yoho General Store in Solsberry, IN

I really enjoyed my stop at Yoho General Store. It made up for not being able to hike the nearby Sculpture Trail (it was... deserted and since I know my cell phone doesn?t get good reception in Greene Co. I decided hiking it alone was a bad idea). Theatmosphere is old school and awesome. The scoop of ice cream I got was generous for $3.00. I definitely will come back to eatpie and try some of the other menu items. What I will NOT do is pay by any means other than cash. BEWARE! I spent the $3 onice cream and another $19.10 to buy two souvenir coffee mugs and a slice of pie to take home. I used my debit card for bothtransactions. Ultimately it was run as debit because I had to put my PIN in. Oddly, I got a message from each transactionbefore it went through from my bank that the transaction was declined. Since both purchases were ultimately successful, Ithought it was just a glitch and forgot about it. However, when I was balancing my checkbook, I found two pending HOLDs for$125 each. $250 is a lot of money to tie up. I am fortunate I could cover it but I am willing to bet there are people whowould have to wait for those holds to disappear before they could buy groceries or gas or some other necessity. One hold hasnow dropped off 3 days later; waiting for the other one to clear. I do not know if that is routine to hold that much even fornon-gas purchases or if the employee who rang me up made a mistake, but it reduced my rating significantly. Read more

Stopped in for lunch today. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. This is a very clean rural old country store... near some really interesting roadside attractions. This would be a great place to take a break while out on a Fall foiliage tourof southern Indiana. It is really close to Bloomington and a short drive from interstate 69. Came back for lunch again. Samegreat food and service. Read more

This place should be your destination, not just someplace to stop and grab a bite to eat. So if you are anywhere near Solsberry... make sure to stop here and check this place out. They have some wonderful food. A Gas pump. Some snacks and drinks as well. Theyhave ice cream. They have a pie case fully stocked! On my local mom and Pop shop tour, this place had to be visited... parkingis pretty nice with the additional lot across the street. There is also additional outdoor seating here by this lot. When youenter go to the pie case and place your order then have a seat and they will bring it to you. I ordered the September 2022 bacononion burger special. The beef was cooked just right. Tasted fresh. The composition of the sandwich was pretty good. I think aslice of real bacon would have took it to a new level, but this was done pretty dang good. The goat cheese was a nice touch. Iordered the cheese sticks also. They were as you would expect. Fried. Most definitely of the frozen type. But goodnone-the-less. The sugar cream pie was absolutely wonderful. I had to buy myself a Yoho coffee mug for the office. Such awonderful series of local photographs on the walls and tables with stories. This place is just a gem. Check it out! Cleanliness5 ???? Food 5 ???? Employees 5 ???? Atmosphere 5 ???? Read more

I have been here twice, both times was disappointed in my order. Today my $5 and something order of chicken strips were... overcooked and hard to bite into. My fries had no seasoning on them so they were bland. Overall, I find the store to befascinating like a trip back in time but the price of the food I was served was pretty steep for the quality. I have had betterquality food from convenience stores/gas stations. Read more

The people who work here absolutely need to start wearing hair nets. I have found way too many hairs in my food from this place.... Absolutely disgusting. Read more

Great experience here. There?s parking right across the street with tables/chairs that you can eat at. The food was delicious;... one of the best tenderloin I?ve ever eaten. The staff was friendly and helpful. With it being a general store, there?s a nicevariety of foods and other essentials available. Read more

BEST country fried steak and gravy I've ever had! Mom's pretty picky about her burgers and she liked it!! And there's the Tulip... Trestle to vist that's just a 10 minute drive down the road????????? Mom wrote on my FB page: "It was a great day. Nice, friendly people and good food. The hamburger was the best that I have eaten in years! It was a big hamburger pattie and themeat was good beef. I would give them an A plus on the resturant, the people working there, and the customers and the drive outthere?????????" Read more
