First visit here. I?ve always admired how impeccably well kept the exterior was and often wondered ?how good is it?? Today was... the day we found out. Everything was beautifully unkept. I expected this place to be a snobby steakhouse with a dress code, the inside is bright and open, offering incredible food to... all patrons. We started with the coconut shrimp, egg roll and sliders - sliders were our favorite and a great deal, but all 3were worth trying! The beef stew was unique and delicious, an interesting take on an old classic. The 333 was cooked toperfection. Sirloin steak was out of this world at a very reasonable price and the short rib over mushroom risotto special needsto be put on the permanent menu! It is evident that the kitchen is well run and maintains a high standard of quality. I?ve been going to Fitzpatrick?s for many years, long before they moved up the road on Route 9. I still frequent the restaurant... at least twice a month, sometime more, and I have to say - the food and the service is always consistent. Very nice, courteousand friendly staff along with delicious offerings. Their chicken noodle soup with the bow-ties is very good, always consistent.I typically order the French dip which comes on a long roll - a nice touch to the otherwise Kaiser roll restaurants typicallyuse. The only reason for my 4-star review is the atmosphere. It?s needs a bit of ?pizazz.? Other than that, the establishment isvery well-maintained and always very clean. Eh, just ok. $35 for 4 large scallops with too much watery blanc sauce. Chocolate cake desert was dry, frozen, and the icing... was cheap. Good place to go if you just want sandwiches probably. Read more
Fitzpatrick?s Deli & Steakhouse in Somers Point on New Road. My SIL and I went to lunch with my grandson an infant. We were... surprised by how busy it was at 1:30 pm off season. After dining there I can totally understand why they were hopping! We wereseated at a large round table which we put the infant in his car seat right on the table top. My SIL ordered the Ruben Specialwhich is a cold corned beef with coleslaw on rye sandwich, which he had a choice of French Fries or potato salad. He chose thepotato salad. It also came with a pickle. He also ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup which he said was very good. I orderedthe Hot Pastrami Ruben with Russian dressing, sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese. I also selected the potato salad as my side.We polished off both sandwiches, however neither one of us could eat all of the huge mound of potato salad which was creamy andpotatoes were cooked perfectly. My hot pastrami sandwich was loaded with pastrami and tender. The corned beef was piled high tooand my SIL told me it was excellent. At first when my order arrived, my first thought was that I would have 1/2 sandwichleftover for the next day, but it was so tasty, I ate the whole thing! We also ordered two fountain diet sodas. Small wait for getting a larger group of tables together. Staff were attentive to our large group. Food was good. Something to... consider, if asking for no Lemons please do not put it in my drink. It seems to be automatic for waiters/waitresses. I prefernot to have it added to my drink. Read more
