We arrived as a group of nine for dinner and all of the staff were very attentive and very friendly. After being seated outside... and ordering our drinks, appetizers, and meals it didn't take very long for everything to start coming out to the table. The ambiance of the restaurant is very pretty. However, the bar service was extremely slow and drinks were nit made as we... asked. We could handle that. The bartender was extremely rude. We waited for about an hour for appetisers. When our entreesfinally arrived 2 hours after our reservation, we were missing one. When our waitress came out and was about to place it on ourtable, the outdoor waiter/bartender actually took the entree out of our server’s hand and said, “That’s mine!” Andbrought it outside. Our whole table and waitress were are flabbergasted. The missing entree came out and was prepared wrong. It really is a shame because the singer, Shawn, was amazing but we won’t see her again because we will never go back there. 2rounds of drinks in three hours and sub par food. 8/3/22 This restaurant has a beautiful, calm relaxing view of Great Egg Harbor so we choose to dine early to get a seating with... a great view. We were very pleased tonight! But the view paled in comparison to the excellent service from our server Ellen O.and the perfectly prepared appetizers, main courses and desserts. My wife and I so look forward to visiting again. My experience here was AMAZING! To begin the host had such great energy as soon as we walked through the door. Once we were... seated we got the pleasure of having the amazing Anthony as our waiter. He was so kind, funny, and nice. He even recommended anamazing ice cream place on the OC boardwalk. The bread we got for our table was to die for. Our food came out in a timely mannerand everything was delicious. The views of the bay were so pretty. All in all I had a wonderful time at Tavern on the Bay, and Ihope to be back soon! Read more
Started off good. Waitress was very nice but food came out slow. Our salmon came out raw so we had to send that back. When told... the veggie of the day was green beans , one of our guest had a nut allergy. We were never informed it was green beans withalmonds. The guest then was unable to eat the rest of the meal. To try and make it better the manager provided the kids with icecream. Aside from that- everything was okay. Not worth the price. Read more
First time here. Most of our food was good. One thing was not but it was taken off the bill. The Outdoor seating really... doesn’t have a view unless you sit at the bar. They had good music on the radio outside and live music inside. I appreciatethe free valet parking because Somers Point can be crowded. Read more
I loved this place. The manager was so welcoming and understanding. His kindness and calm definitely put me at ease. The beds... are comfy, I didn't want to get out of mine. But didn't want to miss an opportunity to take a deep breath on the balcony andmeditate while the fishing boats worked. My dinner was delicious and our server ( whose name I can't remember) was the sweetest,most unpretentious person we could have asked for. 5 minutes from the dog beach. They were even cool about my dog barking whenwe were out of the room. Definitely needed the care and ease I felt during our stay. Go there. Read more
Not sure why everyone is giving this restaurant a low rating. But we dined here and the service and food was great. The place... across the st had a 2 hr wait. We decided to come here, well it was wonderful. Feel sorry for the people waiting 2hrs. We hada much better view outside bar, great bartender and waiter Anthony and great food.
