This location has excellent food. The burgers aren't thrown together, they're put together carefully and look just like the... commercials. I've only ever gotten the wrong order once or twice and they apologized and fixed it right away! The washrooms areclean and so are the tables. They have nice outdoor seating. Had a great time tonight with my kids. We ordered a 5 combos with fries and drinks. The food was tasty and the fries were... fresh. My kids loved the turnovers and the staff was amazing. I highly recommend this place if you are in Sooke. Read more
Had the best fast food expensive. Me and my friend went to china beach and decided to stop here for a quick bite. The restaurant... was clean the staff was friendly. Our order was fairly big but the service was fast. Overall I really enjoyed my time and willrecommend this place and looking forward to visiting more here. Read more
Used to go to this A&W and always had good service and great food. Stopped tonight after 3 years away its changed and not to... the good. Everything was grijey and the food prep area was a mess. Staff was being belittled by a guy playing manager. Odered aPapa with cheese and everything else cost more. Since when do lettuce onion and tomato come as an extra on a burger. Ordered achocolate milk with my meal. Waited for 10 minutes, listened to my server being berated for not charging me .70 cents for theextras then handed me my bag, I asked where my milk was and he told me they didn't have any and walked away. I used some choicewords describing the state of their business tossedvthe bag with who knows what in it and walked out. I highly recommend youfind elsewhere to eat when in Stoke. Read more
A friend of mine and I were on a little road trip out to Port Renfrew a few weekends ago, we stopped in on our way back to... Victoria for a quick bite to eat, because I love me a good teen burger. Anyways, the dining room was subpar for cleanliness andthe trays used for collecting empty mugs and fry baskets were piled high!! Behind the counter were a couple of young kids asexpected in one of these establishments. Which is great, It is good for young people to have a job, and learn early in life howto earn money and be responsible!! A&W, actually was my first place of employment when I was a young boy (15) Anyways, to mypoint. While I waited for my meal I mentioned to the young fellow behind the counter that the trays for empty mugs and basketswere piled high and that he should probably do something about it. The only reason I mention is to him was because they neededattention but also because he was standing there doing nothing, same with the young girl that was working with him. They werefar too busy being on their phones and goofing around instead of doing their job and maintaining front of house. I was met withan ignorant and arrogant reply! I did not react. My meal finally came and I sat down to eat. As I was enjoying my delicious teenburger an older woman working there who looked like she might?ve been in her mid to late 50s. It was her that startedmaintaining the front of house. I spoke to her briefly and mentioned to her that the young kids should be doing this not her. Itis her that should be delegating these duties to the kids. I was then met with mockery and attitude from this young fellow! AllI can hope is that the owners of this establishment get a chance to read my review and do something about the ignorance andarrogance of the children that are not doing the job they should be doing. This A&W used to be my favourite place in Sooke. When I had to use the drive-thru my opinion changed. My order was always the... same, but the mistakes and forgotten items changed frequently. My world record was five wrong orders in a row. I live a gooddistance west of the downtown area, and I am not going to drive back to town for the wrong coffee order or the missing fries orthe wrong burger...but I do call. The reception is varied, from "sorry about that" to excuses, arguments and insults. I havebeen told five times that my forgotten item will be recorded in "the book"...do you have an IOU book?...but when I asked aboutthis the last time I was inside the restaurant, the staff member laughed at me. Two stars for the Teen burgers that weren'tscrewed up. I just hate going there now. Update: I responded to the owner's request. Haven't heard back. Enjoyed eating here very much. Atmosphere? Surprised to learn they still serve the old fashion way for eat in. Burgers on steel... trays, self serve cold root beer in tall frozen glass mugs & not in paper cups. Exceptional polite happy cheerful staff. Diningarea ¾ occupied not to mention a continuous stream of pick up orders in the drive thru'. Keep it up guys, 2 thumbs up ????????is my recommendation. Food is delicious and fresh. More complex flavours than mcdonalds. Clean and well maintained store. The only problem is they are... a little slow. But the wait is worth it. Read more
